Re: Forza Horizon - General Discussion
There's enough car culture on forza 4 anyway. Not enough motorsport.

Re: Forza Horizon - General Discussion
thats why they are going to split Adrian, (hopefully)
I cant wait I love car culture and then if we have forza motorsport doing its thing then its all good in my eyes, they are following the lead by Dirt -
Dirt Playground
&
Dirty (rally)
etc

Re: Forza Horizon - General Discussion
Its official:
http://www.computerandvideogames.com/338378/forza-horizon-is-official-dirt-pgr-splitsecond-devs-onboard/
Horizon is being developed by UK upstart Playground Games, formed in 2009 by ex-Codemasters execs Trevor Williams and Nick Wheelwright and staffed with veterans from Black Rock, Bizarre Creations and Slightly Mad.
No firm gameplay details were offered in Microsoft's San Fran presentation, although its press release describes the spin-off as a "fast-paced, pick-up-and-play racing game", before going on to confirm an autumn release window.

Re: Forza Horizon - General Discussion
can someone please explain what this is :s im soooooooooooooooooooo confused!!!!!!!
Re: Forza Horizon - General Discussion
By what I've seen so far, Turn 10 have hired a new team of developers to create a separate game in the Forza franchise.
From what I can see, Forza Horizon is set to be an open world driving game (like Test Drive Unlimited).
Also, and this is me getting speculative now.. The glimpses of festivals, drifting and rallying seems to suggest that it will be a sort of mix of open world driving and competitive motorsport within a Dirt 2-esque festival setting.
I'll be very happy with this, so long as the cars handle like they have done in previous Forzas.

Hey, that's just from the trailer mate, It's just speculation.
And drifting, while I am not a fan of it's culture, is damn good fun on Forza 4, it's a good training tool for driving higher horsepower cars without aids.

I remember seeing a snake, a bull, and off-road driving in the preview for Forza 4. The closest we got to that in the real game was a Viper, Lambo, and the gravel pit on Laguna Secanickyf1 wrote:Hey, that's just from the trailer mate, It's just speculation.

Re: Forza Horizon - General Discussion
Aye, hopefully they'll release a demo. Project CARS is on my radar at the moment. A good thong about being in TORA is our American members usually get the game a few days before us and will be able to give an honest review of the game. Unlike many websites which are paid by the company to praise there game. NFS The Run, 9.0/10 lol, Really? That cost EA a few dollars.

Need For Speed: The Runs.
Terrible. No story, no challenge, no nothing.

9/10...
If anything, Need For Speed is usually, nine times out of ten, complete bollocks.

Actually, Underground 2 was really bad.
We only thought it was good because it came out when we were around the age of 12. I loved it. But I wouldn't go anywhere near such a game today.

Re: Forza Horizon - General Discussion
Underground 2 was a great game, fantastic soundtrack physics were obviously shocking but it was just so much fun the upgrades on the cars were awesome really unique to anything since the game!
If they ever brought out an Underground 3 i'd buy it in a heartbeat!

Very true. I didn't like Underground 2 at the time of release either, though I was about 8 I guess in this day & age, an unrealistic pedal to the metal fast & furious game just isn't in demand anymore...

Re: Forza Horizon - General Discussion
I played the hell out of NFS: Underground 2. It still is the only NFS game that I ever enjoyed.
For me, most of the allure in Forza comes from racing around the real world circuits in-game. The back straight at Road America, the Corkscrew at Laguna Seca, and every inch of Circuit de la Sarthe and Nordschleife. I am not a fan of drifting or drag racing so most of the uneasiness I have with Forza Horizon stems from the apparent lack of circuit racing. That does mean it will not be any good, like I said, I enjoyed NFS: Underground 2, even with its "drifting" and "drag racing" events. And, while I never owned TDU, I did enjoy palying a friends copy. We will just have to wait and see as we get closer to the release date.

Re: Forza Horizon - General Discussion
TDU was always a bit of a release from Forza for me.
I absolutely loved chilling out and driving a DB4 through the mountains, or hooking up with someone online and going for a long drive while chatting away about stuff. The whole TDU experience of driving out to a dealer, having a good look around the car and buying it was awesome.
I'd be tempted to get TDU2, but the cheese ruins that..

Re: Forza Horizon - General Discussion
Just bought TDU2 off the marketplace. Such a let down. Glad I also got TDU again to remind me of what was so good about these open world games.
And I like NFS The Run. Sue me.

Re: Forza Horizon - General Discussion
This sounds like a real tasty proposal to TDU. Don't get me wrong, I really love TDU especially the second one. But with Forza Horizon, you get the feeling it's going to be developed properly without any cheesy storylines etc as with the other faults with TDU2.
I for one cannot wait. And well done Playground games for partnering with Turn 10. It's great to see the vast amount of talent from the UK involved in this new game.
