Forza Horizon - General Discussion

I will see what it's about. Remaining sceptical until more details surface. If I have to go and buy jeans from a virtual Urban Republic in this game I won't be best pleased.
That was always one of my biggest criticisms of the TDU games. If I want to drive for miles and miles to go shopping I'll go to Cribbs Causeway. I don't want to do that in a bloody game!

It wasn't so bad in TDU1 Matt, as it was in TDU2. #2 had stupid achievements to unlock that dealt with avatar customization (10 plastic surgeries????). I don't remember if #1 had any 'clothing' achievements..

Take just a quick glance at Playground's recruits and it seems they poached half the people who worked on Race Driver: Grid, and took on innumerable refugees from the Project Gotham and Split/Second developers at Bizarre Creations and Black Rock.

Turn 10's support for Forza 4 will continue up until Horizon's release. Last year Microsoft kept EA from putting Ferraris in Shift 2 so EA returned the favour by blocking Porsches in Forza 4; money heals all wounds, and Forza 4's May 22 Porsche expansion includes twenty Porsches, twenty new events, and ten new Achievements. DLC packs will continue until the autumn when Playground release Horizon.

Turn 10 have already announced a 2013 release for Forza Motorsport 5, and with Microsoft's next generation console due in the autumn of next year it's unlikely to be a current generation game. Horizon is the last big racer in a generation of driving games that Forza has dominated.

It looks as if I will be spending a bunch of money in the next few years.

I'm hoping they're not going to cock it up. I like Forza; I like the looks, the feel, and the cars. Mostly the cars... There's about 600 of them now, all completely customisable.

What I DON'T want is T10 to then cut the game in half. I'm all open to a free-roaming game or whatever this is going to be, but I still want FM to be how it is, just better. I don't want FH to be just FM with half the cars and whatever FH has instead. However, if they do this well, FM could connect to FH somehow, etc etc.

Or we could have a CoD situation, where we have one franchise and two different but somewhat similar games (MW and Black Ops)

I cant wait I loved PGR if they make a hardcore racing game which they do on forza motorsport 5 for the 720 oh yes :

I think its the best way to go, providing a Test Drive Unlimited style game, whilst having the graphics and feel of Forza. Should be epic!!

They couldn't make it another racing game, as technically that'd be Forza Motorsport 5.

We knew this was going to be an open world game. Forza 5 will be out next year .

TDU was fun, but the driving itself was poor. This should be a good buy.

I am hoping that they move the vehicles not suited for racing to Horizon. The Forza public race lobbies would be much better off w/o Raptors and Hummers.

My reservations are aimed at the artwork itself. I actually think the April Fools versio was way better and fitted the overall style of Forza better.

The only good thing I see from this is hopefully they put things like auto vista and other things we don't need for a RACING game. Hopefully Forza 5 is more for the racing group and hotlapping group and it gets rid of stupid features that are not needed to appeal to a general audience.

I would much rather have the NFS group playing Horizon, and leave Forza 5 to the racers. Off topis side note, F4H Bullet, you're the one who was ahead of me in the B class "overall" LB after the wipe. Fancy meeting you here. lol.

Have to agree, the screenshot has me very interested, but the box art looks like a game from 5 years ago
