Forza Horizon - General Discussion

Little bit more info translated from a German site:

"The game will make use of the physics engine used in Forza 4, to maintain the realistic driving seen in the series before. However, the physics will be tweaked to allow for easier off-road driving.

In addition, it seems as though we’ll be seeing 65 different types of terrain throughout the game’s Colorado setting, which will benefit from an open world environment and a dynamic day/night cycle.

There’ll be a variety of events and locations in the game, including gas stations, paint shops, car dealerships and an event type that will let players race a car against a plane."

Not sure about this "physics tweak" thing... Hopefully it's just some tire data for off-roading... Hopefully.

Also, the day/night cycle means that the lighting engine is changed. Turn10 said that they didn't put night racing in Forza 4 because the new lighting engine couldn't handle it... Too many reflections, etc etc. It'll be interesting to see how that turns out.

I wonder if Sedona Raceway will feature in the game? Seems like it's set in that sort of environment.

It'd be a pretty cool crossover between the two games.

Sedona and Corolado are too far apart... I doubt they'd make the game that big, It'll take multiple disks

A more in-depth gameplay preview, skip to 12 minutes (it's all PR waffle at the start). I think the best way to think about this game is to forget it's called Forza, it's basically Test Drive Unlimited done properly, with a decent graphics engine and physics (and hopefully multiplayer that actually works too).

I much preferred the more calm, cool, relaxed atmosphere of the original TDU.

We had the TRC some two years back and it was really good fun, I think we should do it on FM4 before hand if a day to run it can be found.

On FH id dont think Ill get it, but ill see nearer the time.

Never been to Colorado, so instead of spending a few thousand, I can spend 100 and have a holiday in Colorado, without leaving my bedroom!

Looks very similar to Test Drive Unlimited 2 - substitute 'Horizon Festival' for 'Solar Crown' - lets just hope the Wilder Brothers don't turn up, "What drama!" (TDU2 in-joke lol)
