2012 NASCAR (and other roundy roundy racing)

I thought i heard on the news the other day that dodge was pulling out of nascar, anyone know anything about that?

Yeah, Dodge is out of NASCAR as of the end of the 2012 season.

Penske's switch to Ford was the trigger, as there was no team that could fill Penske's shoes.

Yet you look at Nationwide and the Penske cars are always up front, how couldnt they do this in the Cup??? They'll move up now with Ford but I think all the teams are still that wee bit behind Hendrick.

One of the best finishes of the year. Marcos Ambrose's V8 Supercar experience was absolutely key to winning that one. V8s race in the rain, don't they?

That was a 5-star finish.

so proud of Ambrose, i know that's a weird thing to say, but after leaving V8's over here, we've missed him and it seams he's finally finding his feet and starting to win more races!!

and ABE; yes, they do race in the rain, heaps, especially Bathurst, Homebush (both central east coast circuits), Adelaide (sometimes) and a few others

Im with Nicky she does ma head in during every interview plus she shouldnt have flipped at Hornish when his tyre blew and he crashed into her how had she reacted if it was the other way round?

Reckon the chase wont be as close as last year but could still come down to the last race, dont who id like to see win it.

I would like it if the #14 and Smoke could win.

Danica: she has about as much skill as Susie Stoddard w/o the cuteness to back it up... and one helluva bad attitude.

Chase: I've almost grown to accept it, but still would prefer a full season Championship instead. There's a few guys I'd like to see win it, but am hoping that Kyle Busch, Jeff Gordon or best of all Marcos Ambrose make it into the Chase. Of those "in", I'd like to see Stewart or Keselowski. I should be a Biffle fan, as we watched him win a bunch at the local/regional level at Portland before he got to Cup, but I just do not like Jack Roush.

A few weeks later, and now I must comment: Brad K just won his 5th Cup race of the year, and is atop the Chase point standings, while the two Roush Fords are now at the bottom of that list.

I bet Penske is wishing that he hadn't been so hasty to make that leap

Tony's notorious for his last-lap tomfoolery at Talledega. He slingshots out to the lead too early, and panics when the other cars get a run on him (as they should, he's out in front with no draft help). Last time he did this, it cost Reagan Smith out of a win. This time, he turns himself off the nose of second place, and instead of an exciting, clean drag race for the win we get 30 cars torn up and people worried for others' lives.

Had a squatch of it during a boring thermodynamics lecture. Actually gasped out loud. Bloody jesusing hell!
