Re: The Karting Club
heres some links for my karting
http://www.nhrracing.org/images/SSTrack.jpg this is an arial view of my primary track, we start right in front of the chicane and do a rolling start through the final turn of the trioval and instead of going straight on the trioval, we hit the chicane and keep going, great track, very fast
http://www.rfactorcentral.com/tracks/sml/NicholsonSpeedway.jpg
track map of my secondary track, i dont like this one as much, not as fast and shorter than the other. not as many people race here either. ill put up a link for my webs site once i pick up the kart from my friend whos holding it. then kust gotta get my helmet (again another good find im getting one from craigslist for $25 its all approved and anything!) im getting fitted for a firesuit saturday at the track, then i know someone with an embroidery place, ill get my name on the suit and some other stuff, just for asthetics

well you have to understand....2 storke or 2 cycle is INTERNATIONAL....4 stroke or 4 Cycle is not....4 cycle is only big in the North Eastern side of the united states.... only exception to that is Georgia....but then again....Georgia is Georgia....thats pretty much self explainatory...
Even in our series(Florida Karting Championship Series) there are only about 5 people who race 4 strokes out of the 400-500 drivers(yes, thats why we almost have the biggest Karting series in the world), that sign-up per weekend.
Re: The Karting Club
yep i know overall 2 stroke is more popular, i just wish wed get some 4 stroke love here in the south east lol
just an update, while i was at the track i was fitted for my karting suit, one piece, red with white and black accents, ill put up a pic of my kit (minus neck brace and gloves, i buy them at the track) when i get it all

Re: The Karting Club
so tuesday at the latest im picking up my kart, im super stocked the owners of my local track (nicest people ever btw) are going to give an extra practice run the day before a race, my track runs oval races on saturday and after the ovals are done i get the track to myself for a couple laps. im pumped about that too.
also i got another question
Im getting my helmet soon. i take these pills and get bad headaches in bright sun so i was going to get a reflective shield for my helmet, any kind you guys recomend basically whatever blocks out the most light and glare (glare especially)?

Re: The Karting Club
depends what lid you're planning on getting.
I have a Bell F1 spec helmet (no joke!) and the visors with those are VERY good.
But anything from Arai, OMP for example are also good. As I'm sure the other guys will agree it REALLY pays to spend the extra bucks for the extra safety.
Try also to get a spare visor with anti-fog as there's nothing worse than racing with a steamed up visor which happens more than you might think!!
It's worse for me as I wear glasses so on colder days those steam up too lol.
As for the tint, all the tinted visors I've evr had have been pretty good. Reflective/irridescent visors, to me, are better and seemed to do a better job than just plain dark tint. But then the actual colour is down to personal taste
In the end I ran with about 4 visors, oh and depending on conditions it might also be wise to invest in tear offs, but again thats personal preferance.
