Re: Kerbal Space Program
I hate everyone on this thread!! I downloaded the demo this morning at 9.30 and I was still playing it 4 hours later at 1.30 in the afternoon still in my dressing gown and slippers!!
Seriously though thanks for introducing me to this, I'll be getting the full version in the next few days and let you know if I ever get into orbit.

Re: Kerbal Space Program
Right, I've had KSP since the very first beta. It was free, it was very restricted, and I had a bit of fun with it for half an hour or so before forgetting about it for ages. I had simply no idea that it would get so popular, to the point where people are making proper orchestral covers of it's theme.
Seriously, if you love good space themes, this is one of them:
I used to play Orbiter, a freeware space sim, which had some fantastic addons, but KSP just takes that same sim environment and makes it so intuitive and visual. Rendezvousing with the ISS on Orbiter was a very complex undertaking, using very basic displays. With KSP, you just hit the M key and you get a great overview of how to perform manoeuvres and the likes. This game is a triumph! Who'd have thought such a large base of gamers could suss out the basics of orbital spaceflight?
