^ Danica on the pole just reiterates a long running theme that it takes virtually no driver skill to be fast at Daytona. Michael Waltrip, Derricke Cope, Bobby Hillin, Grag Sacks and Jimmy Spencer all have wins at superspeedways and nowhere else.

yesterday's ARCA race was further proof, as John Wes Tonley won from teh pole, after sharing the front row with teammate and fellow ride buyer Milka Duno. When the front row includes two of the worst drivers in all of racing, it only adds to the evidence that Daytona takes little skill to master.

....and nascar/fox/DW wont stop talking about it for the whole season now......

just hope the race next week is more exciting than the "Sprint Unlimited" race was. product placement at its worst. there is nothing "Unlimited" about a race of last years' Pole Winners. and once 1/2 the field was taken out cuz of Stewart's f&$^ up by clipping Ambrose's nose, i lost interest and went back to my anime.

I am hoping that Ricky Stenhouse mans up and makes a Mommy out of her. The sooner the better.

It takes very little skill to be quick on your own at a superspeedway. Long list of winners there who haven't won anywhere else!

... and an even longer list of less stellar drivers who have won a pole on the superspeedways.

Anyone hear of Loy Allen? He won a Daytona pole a decade ago.

Monday night featured Late Models, and was rather exciting a show. Tuesday's double header of Modifieds and K&N Pro Series races should be even better.

The track is a temporary 4 tenths mile temporary oval on the backstretch of the Daytona Speedway, with long straights and tight flat turns at each end. Reminds me much of the track I started my racing at, and Monday's race was just like home to me... lots of hurt body work and bent egos, or vise versa.

Watched Mikey and wow, the last maneuver definitely would get an SI here but we ain't racing for $15k lol so all is fair in war

Having grown up at a very similar track, all I can say is expect a bit more of the same tonight. Hoping this time SPEED doesn't cut off before they can interview the combatants. I am pretty sure that they missed out on a couple great interviews last night.

When the rules prevent passing under the line, while allowing for excessive blocking to that same line, and nobody has ever gotten a win taken away for either blocking or wrecking the leader, on tracks that allow for the cars to be driven wide open all race long...

NASCAR took a Cup win from Regan Smith for passing Tony Stewart under the line after Tony blocked the exact same way.

They need to punish both Smith for blocking, as well as Keselowski for ramming rather than passing, even if it means that from now on you can pass under the line racing to the checkers.

The way I see it, both blocking and ramming/spinning are far more dangerous than passing out of bounds.

last lap wreck. car hit catch fence pole (of all things), ripped front of the car off, in the grandstands. people got hurt. video i posted got pulled. apparently Louis is hearing all about it on his local news, being 1hr from Daytona....
