But there isn't another track. GTE will only be at Sebbers and Lemons in the TEC this year.
I was unaware of that.

If anyone's interested I set up a little practice lobby titled 'TORA TEC PRACTICE' with some AIs on if anyone wants to have a couple of stints of racing. Message or find it in the CPLs to join

Shoot wish i wasn't working. Tried to find a lobby last night and couldn't. It gets boring running by myself.

HMR Motorhead wrote:Thing is, now registration's gone through, if the cars are changed it's going to p!ss off even more people. I'm pretty sure a lot of entries would pull out if this were to happen. Maybe there should have been more intricate and extensive testing and balancing if there are issues as such arising.
The only way to do it would be to remove caps and ask the teams who are currently signed up if they would like to change their car choice.
I''m personally against capping cars, it only creates tension and issues within the community. I personally come here to race and have fun. I couldn't care less how many people are using the same car as me, or how the field looks on TV or whatever, I'd rather have good battles across all my stints and come away feeling happy and wanting to do it all again, not worrying about whether the other guys car is quicker or 'better'.
I'd also rather watch an extremely close battle on the TV even if there are 3 guys involved all using the same car, I'd rather that than all the cars being spread out but thinking "Oh yes, Great variety here guys". Good battles show what racing is all about and make the league look better to potential newcomers because they see great battles and want to be involved. They don't see great variety of cars and want to be involved. Close racing and good battles is what everyone is here for, and if everyone wants to be in a certain car for that to happen, so be it.
My other problem is this, instead of getting a preference list for your cars, which has space for every car to be ranked in order of how much you want it, you get a choice of two cars, with sign ups happening so quick, and everyone not really having a clue whats going on, a team that misses out usually has to select a car that they don't want/didn't test etc. Instead of simply a 1-2 system it'd be much better to have a 1-any number system. This way if you don't get your first or second choice you get a car that you've actually tested and all that. This still has issues whereby someone could end up with their 10th choice or something crazy, but I imagine that would be a much rarer occurrence to what we saw yesterday when teams had literally no idea what cars they had and what cars were still available when their cars had already ran out.

We know its a big effort but its alot easier when you take advice from people who have tested for you. Some cars are over2 seconds off the pace around sebring, put them on Le Mans with even greater gaps in speed there gonna be 5-10 seconds off. All this was flagged up many times before signups, the Vette is a big problem because its a proven race winnner on high speed tracks. So to boost its PI and say it was slow was a ridiculous idea, whoever made that call needs shooting to be honest. If it wasnt for 2seconds i think it was around Nurb8 it would of won there!

Does Anyone know when the Numberboards are released?
Re: TORA 12 Hours of Sebring - General Discussion
All this talk over the GTEs and nothing over the LMPs....
All I will say is, yes the Vette and Ford appear to be faster, period. Yes we wanted those but missed out on it. And we had to scramble to pick another car, now we have 2 Ferrari's where the team as a whole is seconds quicker than we were in our first choices and 50% of our GTE drivers have improved their times significantly.
Keep the Caps, TORA don't bend. If your the best, then you'll be the best in any car..

This is simply not true.
If drivers X and y and identical pace wise (and are the two fastest drivers), yet driver x is in the vette and y is in the viper (yet also wanted to be in the vette) Who is going to win??

Once again
Our live draft was based on Leaderboard ranking at the tracks we raced the season previous. Faster drivers got the last picks, so the cars balanced the drivers. HOWEVER this works great for us, simply because we only have 24 teams total of 2 = 48 drivers. The way it would work here would be random pick. You can hold it live on Facebook (like we did) OR (probably better) is do a TORA live event and use the chatbox with a team representive making the pick.
You can have a test run with a small series (ie NATCC)

Well very smart of you to take the two extremes, but the viper would win. I've seen the viper beat a Vette around Sebring. Corvette only has speed, but the Viper has tons of grip and brakes.
But all the other cars can be as just good. The fastest car doesn't always win, and all I see going on is "we want the fastest car cuz we are the best" and the best guys didn't get the "fastest" car and now it's a Cap Issue?
Victory over adversity is always the hardest but it's the most rewarding.
Keep the feedback positive for the Staff. No reason in crying over spilt milk. Clean it up and move on.
It's game of fun and passion, lets not forget that.

Well that's not true either.
And I don't think people are discussing the caps for that reason either, a few people in this thread have raised excellent points about why the cap system should not be needed.

Nick James123 wrote:This is now out of hand…..the cap is fine, the builds are fine and if you didn’t find out yourself that the Vettle is on of the fastest then that is your fault, testing is to be done for a reason…..however if you didn’t get your first of second choices of car then have more options, our teams next option was the Jag then the BMW and then the Ferrari !!
At the end of the day all of this is irrelevant as it is an endurance event, 12hours is a VERY long time, the car you have wont be the issue it is CAN you keep the car you are using on the road without any problems, CAN everyone complete all the stints in your team without lag outs or just missing the start and CAN you be consistent enough though the traffic, IF all of these things fall into place it doesn’t necessarily mean you need the quickest car !! Sebring and Lemans are going to take 36hours and that people is A LOT of time for things to go wrong regardless of car choices !!
Working behind the seen at another site and im fully aware of the stuff that goes on in order to balance cars and so on, for a multi class event it is a HUGE effort to make it all happen and is VERY hard to make all the cars within 1second of one another around TWO completely different tracks……I take my hat off (if I had one) to all the staff that work the TEC part of this site as I certainly wouldn’t want to do it and I doubt 93% of you all wouldn’t want to either !! So with that said people should stop complaining and let all your talking be done out on the track with the 36 hours of racing we shall all be doing………..YEEEEEEEEEEAH

Im sorry dude, but no one made you use those microsoft points. There was no garuntee you would get that car and the people who run the TEC made it well known in plenty of time in advance the cap would be at 4.

Re: TORA 12 Hours of Sebring - General Discussion
At Sebring I had 3/4 of the cars within 6 tenths of each other all with tunes, and the other cars I didn't get the oppurtunity to test. I think the reason the Corvette is so popular is people saw how dominate it could be at Nurburgring and seeing as the Audi and Mercedez are not in the car list people wanted that car due to the long straights. People got to remember that Alex P and Drake where driving the wheels off that thing and they are two fast dudes. I still think the cap is a good idea, I mean look at the GT series, lots of diversity so far in the cars and how fast they can be.

We wanted the Corvette simply because it's a Corvette. The lap times were just a perk.

i'm sure i'll get 2:04's without the aid of alcohol, hopefully 2:03's. I do like the beamer, just not a nice cr to drive under influence lol. I suppose it can be said for many cars tho.

Re: TORA 12 Hours of Sebring - General Discussion
My first fury was at how instantaneously the Corvete and Ford BOTH got taken, which I thought was outrageous, seing as how more people led on a preference of the Ferrari or BMW.
My second fury was that I registered within 15 seconds of topic opening, and still ended up not getting in soon enough to get a GTE team in the first 32.
My third fury, which is less of a fury and more of a conspiracy theory, is that TORA staff who can reply in locked topics (or so I assume) get spots 1-2-3-4 in the topic. That alone took up a lot of the very popular cars.
I'm still in favor of the caps, and I'm working around the notion of moving around drivers/cars/classes to respond to my chances. Not only because of he cars chosen, but also the "who" factor.
