Hit a 1.35.4xx today, could easily get into the 34's with a half decent tune, i've missed FWD Touring Cars!

p.s. What aero are people running here? I'm as low as it can be.
I am torn between testing cars at tracks I know to get the best possible combination, or flogging around Hockenheim aimlessly just to get more track knowledge.
Re: MSA TORA TCC Season 7 - Lap Times
I have plenty of experience around hockenheim national...im just that slow
I actually did the majority of my testing here last year after reading the calendar wrong & thinking this was on the calendar, when it actually was the shortest version of the circuit.

You got the right build on? We're usually pretty much even. I often use you as my yard stick to measure my performance by

Re: MSA TORA TCC Season 7 - Lap Times
I've been in the mid-high 35s in a few cars whilst testing, strange that it is showing my 36 as my fastest. The others set have been dirty laps as we were racing at the same time.
I'm gonna get a TCC test night sorted on Monday, would also be good if everyone had some paints - or test paints - so I can get some pics. Will put up a thread in the morning.

I have tried a few builds on a few cars... yet am miserably stuck in the 1:38s here.

Re: MSA TORA TCC Season 7 - Lap Times
Since I have a few tracks that I know much better, I am using those tracks to test cars/builds/tunes. Once I have registered whatever car I can get, then I will worry about learning Hockenheim I guess.
Not saying anything wrong at all with the track selection. If I sound like I am moaning, my complaint is aimed squarely at how bad I am at the track, not the track itself.

Re: MSA TORA TCC Season 7 - Lap Times
Chaos struck today at track day at the Hockenheimring as the driver for the Traxxas Factory Team was out taking a run in one of their many test mules. As he entered the long sweeping turn on the last quarter of the track he seemingly suddenly and for no reason lost control of his Volkswagen. Thankfully no one was hurt although it was rumored around the pits later that the team's head mechanic was being questioned for potential sabotage, and more than likely would be looking for a new job soon. The driver was quoted as saying he "zigged when I should've zagged"

Re: MSA TORA TCC Season 7 - Lap Times
As a few people have mentioned. if you feel you lap times aren't where they should be and you feel your tune is fairly good. It will probably be your build, there is a lot of time just in the build. Then once you feel you got the right build, you will probs find that the tune doesn't suit that build.
Try to have a gear set-up for acceleration.
Also the two main corners on the track to gain time is obviously turn 1 and also turn 7 (the long right before the hair-pin). Again there is a lot of time on the brakes round here, you need a car that can stop.

Re: MSA TORA TCC Season 7 - Lap Times
Thanks Champ, my tune can stop however it may be the build. I will be having another look.
I try to start with the handling side and build the engine after that. I am almost bang in the middle of the regs with it. It feels fast enough but as I said before just will not ease round the corners (even the sweepers) without quite a bit of scrub from the tyres. I have even watched your YT vids AGAIN.(please finish the playlist LOL)
I seem to find unless I crawl round the corners I lose all traction.
I want to ask 1 thing from people. please give me a ball park figure.
1. What Lat G's is your build at in the upgrade shop???
I have lost all my old tunes due to Xbox upgrade and missed the transfer of them, and cannot for the life of me remember what the old Civic was like
Sorry for the long post but please help with the Q. Cheers

Up for that, have car, tune and paint ready, I'll see if I can rally the whole team up.
I can be on by 2030 on Monday mate.

Re: MSA TORA TCC Season 7 - Lap Times
Did a 1:35.8 after a lot of practice, but estimate high-mid 1:36s in a race situation. I don't think the car has straight line speed tho. So, overtaking will be an issue.

Re: MSA TORA TCC Season 7 - Lap Times
Got it down to a reasonable 1.37... With a new build (thanks champ for the heads up) a little tweak and should see the 1.36. Here's to the next hour or so lol.

I finally hit 1:37s...
... in a car I don't plan on using as it will be among the first to fill up.
