hello jono old friend things are just the same at home and we are making the most of what we have while we can. Would be good to trade paint with bud because as you have said its been way to longCQR Jono wrote:S2M Ranger wrote:After a break from forza due to the real world I'm a bit off the pace and don't expect to run A lobby times this season

As for getting up to pace that may take time as I'm stuck at mid to low 35s and find myself braking way to early but hope to be on pace by the time the season starts
PS got married and in a few days time going to be a grandad at 42 years of age

Re: MSA TORA TCC Season 7 - Lap Times
You've got a lot going on then Ranger
Congrats on the wedding and I hope you and Mrs Ranger can enjoy plenty of time as man and wife
In testing I was stuck in mid/low 35's but hoping to improve now car choices are narrowing down. Knowing our past I'm sure we won't be far apart once the serious business starts

Thanks mate. I doubt its the cars or even the builds/tunes as much as track knowledge though, as most of the cars are hitting 1:34s at Nurb GP and are great at rest of the tracks on the schedule.
I used Mugello Club for speed/low DF builds and Infineon to dial in grip, tracks I know very well. That way I could focus on the car and how to make it better, rather than testing on a track I don't know as well as that could skew the results.

1:36.286 I had to change my poor handling Scion for a slightly nippier hatchback. I fear it will be a popular car though

so a 1:36 is about average/prettygood for a car with just parts no tune?
just checking as the bmw's seem to be the most favored rwd, so just trying some alternatives

I think that has to be the build... I have a really good build/tune for that car @ hockenheim that should really help you... I was doing 1:05.2xx in it... The car has a lot of potential. FR me and I will ship it to you... Should help you improve that time by miles.

1:36.0 in all the FWD cars, so you can stick your allocations up your ass. lol.
If you finish behind me in the Nissan Sentra thing, shame on you.

^ Haha Brilliant. I've heard the Sentra is VERY strong. I expect it to be gone with 30 seconds of registration opening.

Re: MSA TORA TCC Season 7 - Lap Times
I can't even make the first corner smooth. So you can all expect to be weary and crash into the back of me when you try and get the cut. Ruining you engine and shocks. Inevitably giving me the advantage and ending in a podium.
But on a serious note I am now on .1 off the 1.36 haha imacumin.

Re: MSA TORA TCC Season 7 - Lap Times
Cannot get below 1.39 in my Volvo C30, bummer. I could probably do better in a RWD... Probably won't if I try.
I'm hopeless when it comes to building and tuning. Besides, I hate Hockenheim.

Re: MSA TORA TCC Season 7 - Lap Times
Seriously mate you need to strip the car back to standard and rebuild it. I was in the same boat. Then as like magic, I swapped some bits n bobs and gained over 2 secs without even tuning. I don't even know what I did PMSL it just "worked". Forget that tune pal and rebuild. CQR champ gave me the heads up about it and never realises how much difference it makes just changing different engine parts.
Also make a note and get your differential spot on. You will make up so much time on the corners and exits. (I know understand how diff works lol) stupid bloody thing.

I don't hate the track, just how slow I am on it. If it makes you feel better, Hockenheim is much more suited to FWD than RWD.
Re: MSA TORA TCC Season 7 - Lap Times
After running a few sessions with some R1, R2, and R3 cars, I dropped my time to low 1:06s. Just need more laps at this track.
Re: MSA TORA TCC Season 7 - Lap Times
managed a 1:35:6 clean, and a 1:35:4, but it was dirty due to draft gained.
Can do that in both my FWD cars of choice,,,just gotta hope I get one of them now,,lol

Ever find a track that you just can't figure out? This is mine
And 1:36 is gold compared to the 1:39 range I was stuck in last weekend
I am torn between scheduling spec races there to learn the track or scheduling work the Tuesday of Rd1 of the TCC
