Looks like they will be the same size as Blue Ray cases then, which makes sense.
Re: Miscellaneous Next-Gen Gaming thread
Gonna need to buy another TB headset I think, current peripherals not supported :/

...so my expensive Fanatec CSR Elite won't be supported? Will this just be controller specific ones that plug into the controller itself?

Unknown at the moment, I suppose it depends on the tech that Fanatec use, Thomas(I think that's the guy) apparently said that they'll have a convertor out at some point if it doesn't work from the get go.

I saw this too. What I am unsure of in my head is how exactly it;s determined. We know that although FM4 can supposedly have 16 player lobbies, you can't because the game self destructs. Now is that servers only or is that game issues as well?
I'd like to think that 30-40-50 player lobbies could be a reality. I doubt we will have full on VLN grids but we could certainly run decent looking multiclass racing at last
Re: Miscellaneous Next-Gen Gaming thread
this could very possibly mean a 43-driver lobby for TASCAR in 2014 quite possibly with room for live-stewards if we start heading down that route.

Re: Miscellaneous Next-Gen Gaming thread

Currently though Forza is on Peer 2 Peer, which, well just plain sucks nd id the limitation for 16 I think
If T10 have indeed got some dedicated servers, then I imagine that we will see higher lobby numbers. Hopefully it'll be at like 30-40 region, but who knows, be cool to have a realistic Le Mans though, with lots of traffic and all the cars in one lobby!

@Matt - Forza's player limitation is a combination of CPU/memory in the Xbox 360, and the peer-2-peer architecture used for multiplayer. Xbox One has several advancements in this area, one exciting development being the move of Xbox Live to their cloud-based 'Azure' platform (that has 300,000 servers worldwide and is used for their cloud computing services such as SkyDrive etc). The implication being that there will be ways to harness this cloud power, bringing things like dedicated servers to Xbox games (should the developer choose/(pay) to use it). I'm writing an article at the moment going in a bit more depth into this and the other technical aspects of the One which should be finished a few days.
@MotoYeti - All rumour and speculation at this point, Zavvi are claiming £399 and 30 Nov, but that's a Saturday which would be a strange launch day. Full price/launch date details are expected at E3 in 3 weeks.
@MrLagtastic - Project CARS has been delayed until Spring 2014, so it's more likely TORA will run some events using Forza 5 first, but I'm sure they'll use whatever the best available game there is and be guided by what their members want to play.

Gizmodo has a pretty good run down of the tech specs of the X1 and what it all actually means.

Re: Miscellaneous Next-Gen Gaming thread
Cheers Richy that's an excellent article - the whole hypervisor OS stuff wasn't properly explained in the reveal, it's that in combination with the cloud services which are the key advancements. For example, while the gaming OS runs Forza 5 at 1080p, the Windows 8 kernal OS could simultaneously stream that video, save it (DVR style), handle a Skype video call, all without affecting the game performance because they're separate virtual machines (VMs). The next-gen battle won't be won on teraflops and graphics, it'll be online services and social features, and this architecture is a real game changer.
