Re: Miscellaneous Next-Gen Gaming thread
And that was the major gripe with Forza 4 (no dedicated servers). So now we have them thats got to be a big step forward.
Did anyone see the interview with the Ryse developer? Everyone was moaning about the QTE's when in fact they are entirely optional, think of them as "Finish Him" moments like in Mortal Kombat. Game looks epic, can't wait to start shouting "Shield Wall!!!!!!" at my Kinect lol, and that is something I thought I'd never say as up till now I've viewed Kinect with the same disdain as a bit of sh it on the bottom of my shoe.

Between the tightly clenched buttcheeks of XB1 and PS4 are the current-gen games...
And no current gen game (apart from GTAV) excites me more than Rocksmith 2014 :D:D

Oh Dear, Don Mattrick from Xbox.
Not heard the quote myself but read it at numerous places.
We have a console for people who can't connect to the Internet. It's called the Xbox 360.

It was from an interview from IGN I think. If you watch the whole thing the statement sounds more like he's just incredibly narrow minded, than douchy.

Not heard the quote myself but read it at numerous places.
Ex-Microsoft Games Studios creative director Peter Molyneux having a pop at Microsoft's awful Xbox One PR, pretty much echoes what we were saying ourselves the other day:
"I just think it was very unprofessionally done. There was one message from one Phil and then another message from another Phil," Molyneux continued, referring to Phil Spencer and Phil Harrison, "and they seemed to be kind of shooting from the hip. Always online is simple for me. As a consumer, just show me why I should be always online and I'll be happy with it. At the moment, it just means game sale authentication. I don't want that. But if there's some way you can give a huge benefit for the consumer, and make the message super clear, [it would be accepted]."

Surely the answer to that would be that if always online means that games can look and be even more awesomer as a result of the cloud processing thing-stuff.
That to me is reason enough.
Re: Miscellaneous Next-Gen Gaming thread
Kinda sucks for us tbh, how would we be able to do something like Britcar like we did last year with consoles that don't work after 24 hours of offline activity and where half the processing is done online.
Also I couldn't play my Xbox offshore now.
I like the idea of online only games/systems if they are solely designed for the gaming experience, but so far it seems its mainly based around DRM.

Re: Miscellaneous Next-Gen Gaming thread
Thought some bundle prices may have been released. Wouldn't mind an Xbox One with Forza 5 for £460.
Any news if we still have to use MS Points? I prefer the way Sony did it with just a price that you pay on your credit/debit card or redeemable code. I always have like 60 MS Points that I can't use.
