I spotted Touring cars, so I was happy for 20 seconds before losing interest

Re: GRID: Autosport
Seems like the PC version is the focus for once, and will have higher textures and better resolutions than those available on the consoles.
Re: GRID: Autosport
Ravenwest!! Open wheel!! Cockpit view!! GRID's back, baby!
I'll probably get this on Xbox. GRID 2 runs ok on my laptop so I might get it on PC if runs similarly.

Re: GRID: Autosport
The game looks really interesting actually. At least for me. For a change there is actually someone focusing on the Motorsport part of driving instead of eye-candy.
Touring cars should be great fun! Like they were in GRID 1.
There is a downside though. Apparently there are no pit-stops. Honestly, I find it to be a rather poor decision in the game´s design. What is the point to include endurance races if you have no pit-stops?
Despite that, they have been quite communicative in NeoGAF (http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=805908&page=3 - Named CodiesLoore) and they seem to want to return to their roots. I will support them
I would love some WTCC races here on TORA

Re: GRID: Autosport
Codemasters never got the pitstops in the TOCA: Race Driver trilogy right...
They've got them right in the F1 series, but how much space is a pitcrew taking up where cars and circuits could be?

It's not jumping out at me. It looks good don't get me wrong but unless it jumps out at me more come the launch I'll be waiting till my birthday in September to get it.

Re: GRID: Autosport
I will be pre-ordering the Limited Edition Couldn´t resist! I´m praying for it to be good.... I don´t want another TDU2/Horizon/FM5 dissapointment. If its anything like F1 2013 I will surely be happy.
In answer to AMR Garage, I believe there were pit stops in TOCA 2 (since its the only one I have). They were only a black screen menu though. No animations, nothing. Just a config menu. Fine enough for me.

Re: GRID: Autosport
It does look interesting, very GRID 1 like, but I fear it may have been rushed out as well. GRID 2 bombed and there were quite a few years between the two GRID games. This may just be a reskinned GRID 2 with a number of assets they already had created in the Ego engine, but if they have adjusted the handling then it could work. One thing that stood out when I read the blog was that they are going back towards a more simulation handlin mode...but not quite a sim as the first GRID. I'm sorry but the first GRID game had no feeling of it being a simulator and felt so much like an arcade racer.
Re: GRID: Autosport
Well, in their defence, GRID 1 was an arcade racer. They marketed it as so (I think). In this one, they are aiming towards a more realistic "physics model". It will never be near FM4 or GT (it is not intended to be) but if its close to F1 2013 I will be happy.
One of the main problems with GRID 1 is that their "physics engine" aged terribly and it was not very good to begin with. Its fun, but rather ridiculous in todays world.

Re: GRID: Autosport
So it should be marginally better than GRID 1For GRID Autosport we’ve gone back to a more authentic handling style. It’s definitely not a full simulation – we want it to be authentic, not clinical – but it’s more towards that end of the spectrum than before. If anything, we believe the handling is actually one or two steps further towards simulation than Race Driver: GRID, to give you an idea.
Re: GRID: Autosport
I've always preferred DiRT 1 over any other CM game. I loved TOCA but DiRT was really fantastic for it's time. Pikes Peak, long stages, realistic service park and damage. It was the best DiRT for me before Ken Block and his energy drink/X Games "homies" took over all of it and ruined it.
Re: GRID: Autosport
GRID: Autosport definitely looks the part. HOWEVER! I have been gaming 13 years now and I can already see a number of issue's arising, at least from a serious gamer's point of view.
1. Tuning in multiplayer: Yes, tuning! Everyone here loves it with a passion! But this can become an issue for casual gamers, people who play it for fun don't care about winning or losing, but a fair game, if people tune online, this could be deemed somewhat unfair, provoking dirty drivers/bad attitudes towards racing.
2. Physics engine: They have changed this a lot with every game. I don't know how this will actually work, if it is aimed at a more simulative perspective, cars shouldn't drift round hairpins at 70mph.
3. Drifting: Drifitng has been announced, how will it work has yet to be shown, but by the looks of it, it isn't Forza/GT Style, seems rather like throw it in and slide away, something impossible to do in GRID 2.
4. A.I: I have had an issue with this for many years with Codemasters. They have been either too robotic or badly programmed. In my view, the A.I look fairly robotic and to be honest, wouldn't put much of a challenge up.
Don't get me wrong, it could be amazing and none of these issues may arise, but from a hypergamer's perspective, this is what I see of the game currently.

No they said it was because if they did develop it for Next Gen then it wouldn't have half the content it does have on Current Gen consoles.

Re: GRID: Autosport
I LOVED Racedriver GRID and have only played the Demo of GRID 2. Now Autosport. I may do a Monday Night EST Deal with Touring Cars as like a prequel to TORA TCC (If the same tracks are on both games). It all depends, although the car handling could use work as they are way too loose.

Re: GRID: Autosport
Well thats goodEach vehicle in the game can be tuned to suit a player’s racing preference with details such as downforce, gear ratios and suspension all able to be adjusted. Players can also earn performance upgrades, for example, engine upgrades, improved brakes and weight reductions, to gain the on-track advantage in career mode and online.

Re: GRID: Autosport
Yeah, it does sound good. Anyway, I had a deep analysis into GRID: Autosport and I've found much more out. As well as the things I mentioned earlier, here are some things you should note:
Teams and sponsors have returned.
More race tracks than road tracks.
Discipline's from GRID 2 are in the game.
A.I can now be seen drifting.
New physics engine.
Other teams may hire you.
Damage engine has been changed.
There are some things I can say have been thrown in, in terms of how these will work is yet to be known. I will try it soon and then let you guys know more.
