Re: BTCC 2009 Discussion
As long as it stays dry or does not rain too much, then I will be in the Paddock for an hour or two to get a range of shots that includes your request. Other then that, I might also be able to get some shots of the logos on the cars.
While they are racing. Since I brought a new 70-300mm telephoto lens last Saturday for about £258, which should get me far closer shots. Then my other camera lens "18-105mm"

How do you mean?
I meant that Shedden wanted it, Steve didn't, and the had a falling out over it causing him to replace Shedden
...although my joke is redundant if they do in fact run with yellow flames
Re: BTCC 2009 Discussion
Oi!!! Less of the Tommo bashing!!!
He's a DAMN good driver AND BTCC Champion, so its not simply a case of him having more cash.
Let's not forget that theresa FAR bigger (in waist size) target for you....Mat Jackson. Lets pick on him for a change. Jason is going to CRUSH him in the same car.

Re: BTCC 2009 Discussion
hmmmm not ince the SEAT Supercup.... and I'm not totally conviced if those aren't actually RWD.
Certainly no BTCC FWD experience.

Re: BTCC 2009 Discussion
SEAT Supercups are definetaly FWD, theres quite a few of them racing in the Potugese Touring Car Championship racing against the BMW's and Alfa's.

Re: BTCC 2009 Discussion
Paul O'Neil is looking stunning in that out-dated Integra
Im sure if he had not got diabetes and had stayed in the BTCC, he would definetaly have a title, if not more, by now.
Thompson is doing very well too, and theres plenty of Chevrolet flags flying for Plato in the stands.

Re: BTCC 2009 Discussion
WOW!!!
Tommo did well to hold the slide after contact with Collard.
Good to see JP do well after Mat messed up a little too. Real shame Paul couldn't pull it off though. Commentators curse...talking about bloody tyres!!!

Re: BTCC 2009 Discussion
Just come back from this event decided to go with my family on this one, alot of good racing and my wife was surpised how loud all the cars was
Re: BTCC 2009 Discussion
Loud?!?!?
I think 44 GT cars are somewhat louder.... but yeah they can be quite noisy too

Re: BTCC 2009 Discussion
I mainly enjoyed the meeting today, mainly the crash in the first race of the G50 Cup. Which saw one car lose it's whole door, in a clash.
Which made the car door look like cheese going through a cheese grater. Other then that the BTCC races were also top notch.
----
One of my shots from the Carrera Cup, which happened after the BTCC:

Liked
- Tim Harvey bringing up Shedden's strong showings at Thruxton in the past, a nice dig there.
- Paul O'Neill's infectious confidence and a great drive in race 3.
- Turkington not giving up race 2 and taking the win on the last lap.
- Vauxhall's 1-2-3 in race 1.
- The Lacetti looking good on the track, cracking driving from Plato.
Loathed
- Mat Jackson winning race 3.
- Boring, processional racing throughout most of the day.
- O'Neill's tyre giving out after the curse of the commentators jinxed him.
- The needless and manipulative race 1 safety car.
- The awful coverage from itv - normally I think it's good, Thruxton was totally amateurish with all the mistakes and misses.
- Dan Eaves being thumped off for 3 DNFs.

Re: BTCC 2009 Discussion
LOL, very true. Must be gutting spending all that money though to get the car, team and driver ready, only for a mix of driver error and dodgy contact to mean they hardly complete a lap.
Could've put money on it that Crash... sorry, 'Sonic' Chilton would've been involved!
