What did you expect them to do? Release an unfinished game with lots of bugs? Better to release a game in a more polished, finished state surely?

Some things that stand out in this video
-The shear number of tracks
-Pit engineer: "Your front right light is damaged, come into the pits we have a replacement"
-The HUD customization is insane!
-The Photo mode looks brilliant (with filters)
-6 different weather stages per race
-Windshield wiper button

You do realise with 16 people per lobby, if there are to be multiple lobbies, you cant really do the "changing weather" conditions, because it could rain in one lobby and be completely dry in another...

Not if you have the preset lobby settings the same throughout all the lobbies, or just set it to the "real" option to give you live weather data haha

Absolutely, but at the same time, I've lost my interest in it. Maybe they could've released a demo?

Thanks for sharing Magic. Even though the game has been pushed to March, I still plan to make a purchase of the title and try to stream for everyone at TORA.

Looking forward to the Multiplayer aspect and lobby setup in the final product.

Not liking the looks of this:

https://pretendracecars.wordpress.com/2015/01/31/wmd-forums-turn-into-a-mess-as-slightly-mad-studios-begin-removing-users-questioning-the-direction-of-project-cars/

The game looks good so far but this Ian Bell guy seems like a proper clown. Few people on iRacing who've been banned just for asking why one feature is more important than the other and liking forum posts.

Looking forward to it anyways though!

He fails to mention the banned users broke the NDA by posting private information public forums, that's the real reason people are banned - by joining WMD you agree to part of the development community and not do anything to hinder the devleopment, promotion or success of the game - that includes publicly slating the game. If they didn't like those rules they shouldnt have signed up.

The guy is known to be a trouble maker and was banned from WMD - from a Senior Manager:

"Don't feed that guy hits on his wordpress account. He's already a known trouble maker/troll."

with 16 online the racing should be the same as it was last gen, however, say Im doing TEC LM24, it wont be as boring with weather and day/night. More to concentrate on can make the driving experience better.

I'd like to make a formal announcement, the wife has preordered my copy of Project CARS.

So I guess I'll be getting the game now. Yes I'm very excited, and I still have my concerns... But I'm ready for it Smile

926-927 Build Notes wrote:Dedicated Server (WIP):
* Fixed DS list logging flags in wrong order.
* Rebuilt Linux executable with latest code and protocol version.
* Fixed dedicated server browsing to skip DS with mismatching protocol version.
* WMD-4772: Implemented peer rebroadcasting, used when the online platform can't establish full peer-to-peer connectivity mesh:
* Updated ping stat structures to maintain recent packet loss in addition to total packet loss. Recent packet loss is used in most places instead of total. Improved ping stats collection to ignore ping probes belonging to older ping batches.
* The Sabre networking layer now monitors all connections and if connectivity to another session member can't be established or fails, it tries to find another member to use as the rebroadcast peer.
* The rebroadcast peer must report direct connectivity to both sender and recipient members as working, if the peer ever leaves or reports issues another candidate will be picked.
* Modified recipient structures to also contain information about rebroadcast peers to use.
* Modified Steam/XB1/PS4 p2p networking protocol to support rebroadcasting via intermediate peers, using the above infromatio to decide what to send where.
* Protocols using dedicated servers ignore peer rebroadcasting information since they rebroadcast through the dedicated server anyway.
* Bumped protocol version to 43.

When there isn't a forum in a category, any new topics in a category will be under a forum labelled the same as the category it's in.

tbh I don't know why the game's off-topic chat was moved to the Pitlane category (which is reserved for championship discussions) anyway.

I'm going to be fixing a couple of issues with the forum soonish, the categories will be on my to-do list.
