Re: Project CARS.
Took me 2 months of tweaking with each car on iracing which started how this is, twitchy and spinning out, now i can win races in any series I enter with a respectable time.
Re: Project CARS.
I have no idea. I don't understand what you mean 'its meant to be a console racer'. It isn't. Its a racing sim that you can play on PC or console and is equally difficult on both, its not toned down on console (and if it was people would then be complaining that it was?). The whole point of Project CARS is to have a fully fledged sim experience without the the expense of a high spec PC, with the benefit of the better community aspect that consoles offer.
Re: Project CARS.
That's what they intended didn't they? I guess I misjudged the situation and am clearly out of my depth, I'll be taking this game back.

Re: Project CARS.
Starting to unfortunately find more bugs and glitches in this game but they should hopefully be sorted soon. Otherwise I'm really enjoying this game. It's exactly what I wanted it to be. Bring on TORA British GT!!

Dont forget to check the official site and report anything that is newly found!
Re: Project CARS.
is it me or do u think some of the buttons which u don't want to use like ignition and engine starter waist button space, cos I don't want to use them cos using a controller limits u with what buttons u have to ad on.
example, it forces me to add the KERS, DRS, and handbrake buttons which im never gonna use, I only wanted to change the shift buttons round. cos Im not planning to do FA but I cant cos it forces u to do it....and u cant use the D pad cos its used up already.
I also noticed on mine that the car likes to go to the right in a straight line.

Re: Project CARS.
Yes quite a few mandatory atm, but I saw a post on the Pcars forum earlier from a dev saying they will address that and make less buttons mandatory to free up buttons for people to configure what they want.
Sounds like you have a bit of controller drift, increase the steering deadzone a little until it stops doing it

Re: Project CARS.
I noticed every time I alter the steering deadzone and back-out of the menu, it decreases by just one. So rather than a base-5 setting... Mine is at 41, haha.
I think I'm starting to get this sussed now. The opposite-lock help makes a massive difference when coupled to your steering sensitivity. You need very little/none sensitivity with it On, and a fair bit with it Off.

Re: Project CARS.
Getting a bit more out of it. Although I was trying out the Barcelona GP Event and it completely froze and my Xbox reset Anyway, I'm liking it so far, just feels like there's absolutely no feeling and I have to drive really cautiously because of the steering. Though, I'm used to the FW31 on iR so going to anything away from that kinda zones me out.
Re: Project CARS.
seems im gonna be spending a lot of this month getting my feel for it correct, hope to join the grid for british GT

Re: Project CARS.
I think a lot of people had their heart set on this being a hard-core racing sim & then get frustrated when they struggle because.....well it's a sim (I don't mean in the TORA community specifically, I've noticed this in my general forum browsing)
I'm somewhat similar, I'm a purist. I like it to be 100% as real as possible, I drive in helmet cam, as many assists off as possible etc. But I know I have to sacrifice realism for my own enjoyment. I need the braking line, and at the minute I need TCS. I may try to ween myself off as I improve, but as I won't be spending much time on this game as it is due to boring life stuff getting in the way, I'll probably just leave them on. It isn't fun when I'm fighting the car so hard that I can't actually enjoy it!
Maybe the delays actually helped me, this game went completely off my radar for the months before launch, and I only remembered & pre-ordered it last week. It's almost as if my expectations had died down. I wasn't really expecting something amazing & was staggered when I first got on it. I think maybe people feeling slightly aggrieved or disappointed are ones who had incredibly high hopes for it.

Re: Project CARS.
AI is really annoying at some points. They're crap off the line in every car, you'll make 4 positions easy every time. But the most annoying thing is how they feel like Robots. If you turn in on them or they punt you, you'll be sent off the road so hard that the car will either be screwed or you'll be in the next field you'll be that far from the track. BUT, if you do the same thing to them, you're car will do a 180 flip and they're car will continue like you've thrown a pillow at them. If they're gonna fix one thing soon, it better be the AI because right now it's appalling.
Also, is it just me or is anyone experiencing FPS problems? At Brands Hatch after Druids, it drops MAJOR down. Another weird thing I'm getting is when I go into a corner, everything is fine, change gear lift off brake. But then all of a sudden the game just speeds up for a split second. Like in FM5 when it would lag everything would just race ahead to catch up with itself.
Right now, I'm feeling this could have a tonne of potential, but in it's current state, I don't know.
They need to optimise this better, I would've thought with all those delays these things would be ironed out for sure. I'd almost go into the pCARS forum and debate it, but I'd probably get Ian Bell'd and kicked off the forums unless I say "it's the best game ever, thanks SMS"

Re: Project CARS.
I have the same FPS issue with my game, it only seems to be on certain tracks but I've noticed my game lag under heavy braking, sends me off every time, plus tell me about it with the AI they're pretty shockingLMR Zakspeed wrote:AI is really annoying at some points. Re: Project CARS.
i have been trying most cars and found that i liked the GT class cars and also the lotus turbo(the one senna drove back in the 80s)plus i did some laps in the dark on the nordschleife which i found that most of it felt like you wasnt on a track but floating in space and also i did some laps on le mans.also i tried to switch the buttons for changing gears to x and b but it would not let me as it kept saying i couldnt do as i had not assigned all the buttons(im using a controller) and lastly is there a configuration that will allow me to at least make the car feel a bit easier to drive.i did see a set up but i couldnt use it for the controller.please could someone help.

Re: Project CARS.
I'm in the the same boat there pal, I'm using controller, but I actually find that having the bumpers and gear changer soo much easier, I dominated online in a public session with manual gears (tbf most of the guys clearly thought they could drive like they do on forza with no assists)

I had that problem vamps, the trouble is u need to add ignition and start engine on aswell as the hand brake, aswell as the DRS and KERS...that's the reason

Do you have auto ignition off in the setting? Might have something to do with that maybe

Re: Project CARS.
Good news they found the controller input bug and are working on a patch which should arrive ASAP.

Re: Project CARS.
If there was enough support then I reckon it would be good PR for TORA by running championships on a range of platforms.
