TORA US American Iron Discussion

Welcome to the newest installment in TORAus, the American Iron series!

This championship, with cars based on NASA's series of the same name, and a race format straight out of NASCAR, features "club racing level" affordable and obtainable US Muscle Cars from the mid 1980s to the mid 2000s.

In the interest of saety, in this case to keep cars from slamming into each other and to minimize damage inflicted when they do, Race Tires, Race Brakes and Full Rollcages are required. To maximize performance, in the spirit of the NASA AIx series, aero modifications are full optional, so it is entirely up to you to add adjustable, non-adjustable, or run w/o any aero modifications at all.

To speed up the overall night's activities, we have gone with a single race of approx 40-50 minutes in length. Adding a bit of NASCAR strategy, there will be a "Competition Caution" of three laps in length, in which pit stops are optional. So it is your choice to pit for damage repairs and fresh tires, or stay out and possibly gain some track position. The Comp Cautions will happen sometime between the race's 1/3 mark and 2/3 mark, depending on the circuit. Comp caution lap numbers will be posted in each round's sign in thread. This could create some close battles in the races' closing laps.

While this series is currently set for TORAus in prine time America, if the is sufficient interest and an available hosting team, this will also be run in UK prime time.

Please pay attention to the Rules and Regs, as there are a few new ideas being tried in this series.

From all testing, I have yet to find a clear favorite as of yet, but I did find that with aero, the cars feel like TCC cars, w/o they are much faster but squirrelier.

I found several of the cars to be very evenly matched, and the rest would probably be competitive as well if I spent more time on them. Most likely going with a Stang because...well...it's a Stang!!  LOL

Also, great to see you signed up for this one Mikey!! Looking forward to tradin' some paint with you again!

Oh hell yeah Mako... when I set this up and got the go-ahead for it, I adjusted my work hours in order to race it.

I mite try sign up for this 1, along with others who want me to Team with them , i will be doing the UK Version also if it has enough Participation

Lexus is not American... Infinity is not American... They are still owned by Japanese. Just because they're made in America doesn't mean car restrictions should be lenient, same with registration...
I came to tora to challenge myself, push myself over to achieve a greater driving level.
Since I've been a part of TORA it's been more buckshot in ass because RULES aren't followed, times aren't met, internal infrastructure has yet to see stable. Still having erebusv8 hosting right?!?!.
Why seriously...... Priorities to keep everything are being over written with political buckshot, stupid drama, and a huge lack of situational awareness on how everything is falling apart from the start of race to getting people to be fair. Needless to say I'm leaving tora. It's not worth it, I'll just go back to organizing my own races. For those of you who aren't a part of the staff that has neglected to tighten Nd fix things, have fun plenty of good racers in tora just expect to not connected, or have nothing written in concrete EVER!

so much more to be said but it's enough pretty sure the staff members will get the hint that you need to make people listen follow rules and quit changing s***

Rules WILL be followed, and other than XBL conn issue caused delays, times WILL be met.

As far as Japanese manufacturers, according to Forza, Infinity and Lexus are American, and were included to add the variety that is missing, as Dodge was too busy building K Cars in the 1980s and 90s to have any presense in the game, while more recent Mopars are a bit overweight for this.

Pretty sure the whole TORAus concept is in reference to the timeslot, not the nationality of the drivers........ unless I missed something.........

Mako the discussion of letting People outside of America Race in an American TimeSlot was Discussed in the TouringUSMasters cause someone outside of the TouringUSMasters, was leading the Championship.

but without some of the people outside of America Racing, there wouldnt be as much Interest in the Series to be honest. such as the VAG US. like 3-4 UK Guys were there for that and we only had 8-9 people every week.

I wasn't able to run in that series Solar, so I missed that discussion. I still think it's poo. Anyone who wants to should be able to compete.
