Re: BTCC 2010
I dont think Turkington would do that well as the BMW's are struggling and WSR are running the old beemer where as motorbase have last years WTCC one.

Re: BTCC 2010
Also judging by whats been said by the commentators, the bill for replacement clutches will be through the roof by the end of the season...

Re: BTCC 2010
The arguements after the race about the bmw long 1st gear may have them alter the rules already. It was an advantage they had and the fwd cars had others.Swings and roundabouts.

No, I'm pretty sure thats the same car as last year, but they have bought a customer version of the 2009 aero kit from RBM.

Re: BTCC 2010
FYI for everyone yellow flags were brought out whilst such drivers as Plato, Neal and various others were on a much quicker lap so quali hasnt shown the true pace of all the cars so tomorrows races are going to be fantastic

Re: BTCC 2010
But thats motorsport isn't it? These things happen
Doesn't change the fact that the Ford is on pole does it? Chilton was also fastest in Practice earlier.

Re: BTCC 2010
Great, I'm hoping for a minichamps 1/43 Focus at some point (they do have the road version, so maybe )
RAce 1 should be good, some of the faster guys trying to work through, and we should see a BMW fightback, seeing as there's only one in the top 10.

Re: BTCC 2010
The only modern BTCC model I can remember is the 2007 WSR BMW in 1:18 scale by AutoArt.
I picked up a 1:18 Ford Falcon AU V8 Supercar (Dick Johnson Racing Shell car from Bathurst 2000) which should only be available in Australia (God knows how I found one!) in TK Max, definetaly my favourite model Biblical amounts of detain on the inside, right down to all the various wires and gear lever and sponsor stickers inside the car.

Re: BTCC 2010
Spark made the 07 team RAC Beemers, and Oxford made Gio's 07 Vectra and all three from 08, but the quality was poor on them.

AGREED!!!
It makes you wounder how someone a bit rubbish like Nash can get sponsorship but 2x BTCC Champion can't get Jack-all and now has to fit carpets for a living....
And the defending champion can't get a drive either....
Its sad and confusing that the talent can't get the backing for some unknown reason when others with less success and frankly less chance of doing a sponsor well and getting them good coverage are finding the money to race....
Cant help but feel it damages the championhip....
(PS: thankyou for listening to my rant... i really needed to get that off my chest... )
Re: BTCC 2010
i agree how do some great talents turkington, glew and gio cant get money together to race when theres drives less talented out there.Somebody should get all three! now that would be a team
Did yous read Neal got a slap on the wrist for the Collard accident.Well if you call it that.
Was looking throught the btcc reports for qual and found this http://www.spotterguides.com got the spotters guide for btcc 2010.Just incase anyone was interested.

Re: BTCC 2010
Gio would never pay for a drive. Uniq's money paid for him to come over and do Thruxton, but Uniq decided not to continue at this time. That meant no money to pay Gio, and I would imagine that part of Uniq's money was helping to fund Glew's drive too now that he's pulled out. Or, more likely, the cost had went up with Uniq's withdrawal.
Awful situation.
Still, we have racing to look forward to tomorrow. It's not all being shown on itv4 due to the Cricket league or something, but its apparently being streamed live by itv, so it looks like the third race will have to be watched online. Really hoping their infrastructure will take all the BTCC fans logging on to watch at the same time.
