Re: iRacing
To be honest, hosting an event on iRacing is really simple. You CAN pay the $10 fee of making a league but honestly, many people have done it without that because Leagues are usually just for an enclosed group. The major series like NEO, CESCS, International Sim Racing Association, etc. mostly just set up a hosted event. And it's not ridiculous money. It's like $2 or £1 for a 4 hour session.
Content is down to such a fantastic quality and they spend so much time and effort making them perfect that they have to charge the money they do otherwise they'd be bankrupt within a month. PC sims have a lot more potential than console racing games and it would be a shame if TORA were to miss out on it...

Re: iRacing
It'd be great if we can develop a bit of a foothold in iRacing down the line. But at the moment that would very much need to be community driven.
I look forward to seeing what you guys come up with - sadly my steam driven laptop won't really do iRacing to an acceptable visual standard

Re: iRacing
Yeah I had a look and if we had a 20 minute practice before the race and then a lone qualifier of 4 laps (10 minutes) and then depending on how long the race would last we'd probably only need a race for 2 hours so it'd only be $1.
I was thinking 100 miles which is about 67 laps. Do you think it should be 67 or rounded up to 70?

If it wasn't for the fact both my kids have a Birthday in May as does my partner and brother, I would have made a league by now lol

Re: iRacing
70 seems ok. Although that might be a bit long in the Street Stock. And if numbers don't turn out that well, the track might be a little bit bare. However it is Oval Racing so it would be close.
I'd love to see the Legends at South Boston or USA Speedway with cautions. Those cars are wicked fun but in the Rookie Series without cautions, it makes the series a wreckfest. Would be awesome to get a proper race in 'em.
But I'll pretty much race what ever it is

Re: iRacing
Yeah, it was just a suggestion. Just trying to get something going and after I did the street stocks last week at Charlotte I found them really enjoyable. Would you want it to be a sprint or would pit stops make it a bit more interesting?

Only issue for me is that I'm going away in the summer so this would need to happen in the next few weeks.VAMR Wilson wrote:If it wasn't for the fact both my kids have a Birthday in May as does my partner and brother, I would have made a league by now lol

Really enjoying driving the Star Mazda. Just got it today, really nice car to drive. Could be what I race from now on. Nearly got my B class license already! I think it's maybe a bit too easy to move up.

You guys got an tips for going faster. My PB in the Star Mazda at Road Atlanta is 1:21.254. There is definitely more time I can take out of the lap but there are people doing 1:17's!

Re: iRacing
When I 1st got iRacing I was right foot braking in the Mazda. After a few months I came back and felt left braking was better for me but I never bet my right foot braking times. Think there was a update to the Mazda and right foot braking just didn't feel the same.

Re: iRacing
I left foot brake and I always have. I just can't go fast if I right foot brake. I don't have a feel for braking with my right foot.
On another note I prefer fixed series and I always will. I would rather have a race where the winner is the driver with the most talent rather than the best setup. I don't know how much a good setup is worth on iRacing compared to Forza but so far I've ran the baseline setup for every race I've done.

How do you heal-toe when left foot braking?

Re: iRacing
I right foot brake, I have no intuition with my left foot, or the patience to learn at this point.
I've been running GT3, and lesson learned: Do not race on the opening day of a new week, no one knows what they are doing I lost a whole point of SR because people did not know how to run in traffic at Interlagos.
Anywho, any of y'all wanna hit me up, my iRacing name is Tyler Jones. Just snagged my A class license and the Z4 is the sh*t.

Re: iRacing
Really want to get into this, will see later on in the year however. Question how long does it take to be allowed to race GT3 as thats where Id probably be camping in.
Regarding left foot braking I do it for Forza so Id probably get used to it easier.

Re: iRacing
I tried left braking once in real life at Silverstone it worked sometimes but on one occasion the rear went light and I nearly lost the car going into abbey so I would recomend trying it around low speed corners.

Re: iRacing
You have to build up your safety rating to get into the eligible class. I could get into B class within two weeks. If you are really eager and drive safe, you may achieve this on a weekend.ShrinkingSteven wrote:Really want to get into this, will see later on in the year however. I only left foot brake because I use auto clutch, I hate the feeling of my CSR elite clutch pedal.
