According to the statistics Peugeot are going to win again but I think the field is getting fairer so maybe we will see a petrol car win it (lol)

Highcroft was never an ILMC entry were they?

From what Duncan Dayton said after the testing following Sebring, the R18 was putting down faster lap times than any of the cars that were in the race. I'm sure the new 908s were sandbagging somewhat, but I seriously doubt that Audi didn't learn from the disastrous R15 launch and that they will have a car that is easily up to speed.

It'd be nice to see Pescarolo destroy both of them though, or if a diesel has to win, I hope its the Oreca. Rub it in the factory teams' faces.

Could be an intresting battle, if it its like las year Audi lownforce test PGT full downforce.

However the R18 and PGT (If you compare Sebring data) (R18 when it had prvt test @ Sebring) Seem to be matching each other, however ACO will peg desiels back before Le Mans, We have Le Mans test day as well soon, heres hopeing to Aston Martin, But I would love to See Rebelion Toyota Pull 1 out of the hat along with Pescarolo Smile

Its not as sleek looking as the 908 (the old one at least, the new one looks kind of like they messed up building the old one and decided to just go with it), but I like that it looks like a mashup of the Aston Lola and the R15.

They could have done a better job with the colour scheme though :-S looks like grand-am livery.

Thought they would have kept the R15+ livery continuity...not the same as, but I thought they were going going with the Red (Audi) vs Blue (Pug) ethos.

Bump guys specfic thread for ILMC round 2 -

ILMC/ LMS, Spa 1000kms - Friday Morning Notes

First things first – Mike Newton was out of hospital and back in the hotel by 10pm last night, battered and bruised but otherwise unharmed.

That’s all the more remarkable when you have had an opportunity to see photographs of the accident in progress (we have) – The #9 Peugeot was going up the outside of the RML car into Pif Paf, Newton didn’t deviate from his line, the cars made contact, Lamy was turned across the bow of the HPD before spinning out, propelling Newton off to the left, the #36 car launched into the tyre barrier at high speed, hitting the tyres at approximately 45 degrees to the horizontal.

The major damage to the car is on drivers’ left, the tub effectively shaved clean of all attachments, wheels, suspension and bodywork, to a point behind the drivers cockpit.

At this point dsc believe the car to be a write off, the tub though did a magnificent job of protecting the driver, this accident could have had much graver consequences than we are reporting this morning.

The RML team are late arrivals this morning, in itself a major difference from the norm. We are expecting news of a formal withdrawal later today.

By contrast the #9 Peugeot is set to be ready to roll for the final free practice session later this morning, the damage there reportedly restricted to three corners and bodywork, the Peugeot and RML teams swapping bin bags full of bits and pieces yesterday evening.

There was good news too from the Rebellion Racing squad, the team were in the final stages of rebuilding the #13 Lola Toyota which was badly damaged in the earlier red flag incident yesterday afternoon. Reports of suspension or steering failure on the car are believed to be incorrect, the team believing that the accident was caused by the car being under compression and Bouillon having insufficient lock at that point to prevent the car from continuing in a straight line into the barrier.

In other news the #23 MIK Corse Zytek was unable to take the ‘hybrid’ test yesterday evening and will therefore continue for the remainder of the meeting in conventionally powered mode only. It’s been an inglorious start to the ‘hybrid era’ in ACO rules racing thus far!!

Thanks daily sports car for words
