Sounds laughable I know, but bizarrely the Wii U version could end up being better than the Xbox 360/PS3 version (Wii U has more memory and may well be able to run it at 1080p resolution). Plus the touchpad is gonna be used too:

"- Screen as primary view - I.e., allowing you to transfer play of the game between the TV and on-the-go around the house.
- Screen as secondary view - Switch between rear-view mirror, overhead map, telemetry.
- Primary input method - Drive by tilting the controller, on-screen buttons replicate the buttons/switches on a real wheel (push to toggle on/off or flip up/down).
- Secondary input method - Manage decisions in the pits (swiping through tire choices, setting fuel amount).
- Camera - personalise your profile, pose for the podium.
- Menu navigation method - Flick photos from your gallery to the TV, private chat with team-mates."

What we really need is a 'next-Box' version with Xbox Smartglass technology (to use a phone/tablet as a secondary display for those functions - please Slightly Mad Studios, do it!)

Graphically I don't think the WiiU will touch the 360/PS3 version, although it will be close. The WiiU will be new etch, where as companies already know how to get the most out of the 360.

The controller/screen thing will be pretty cool, and being able to use my iPad as that would be sweet with an updated version for the next gen consoles.

I must admit I was surprised too - but developers are saying the graphical capabilities of the Wii U are more powerful than 360 and on a par with PS3, but with 3 times more memory (1.5GB compared to 512Mb) - will be interesting to see what they can do with it. I guess it's 5 years newer tech and things move on a lot in 5 years!

Check out this interactive panorama from pCARS.

Not onl can you use your mouse to rotate the image in 360 degrees, but can also click on the clocks to change the time of day. Looks stunning!

I need me some more screens Shocked

I'm gonna go join CARS today, see you at Silverstone Razz

EDIT

Put a real video up to show a comparison, I was thinking CARS had far too much wheel movement until I saw the real thing. Forza is so unrealistic regarding wheel movement then :/

Becoming a full member costs €45, you get weekly builds and you get a free copy of the game when its released. That's the one for me Razz

No, you don't but it looks awesome.

Well, just bought the game and installed it. Only having a quick shot with the 360 controller before I try my wheel. Oh. My. God.

Quite a few bugs, with this being an Alpha and all I expect that. The graphics are incredible and with the 360 controller the game feels like what Shift 2 should have felt like. There is actual weight behind the cars!

This game has so much potential, and Spa with 60 random AI cars in everything from Go-Karts to F1 cars is hilarious Razz

Obviously it is pre-alpha, but I managed ot get a good setting on my Fanatec and wow, some of the feedback and feeling is incredible. Lower end its not quite so good, and many of the tracks have no scenery, and some of the newest cars are a bit rough but overall it's worth the money seeing as I will have every alpha and beta all the way up to release now with a full version of the game at the end.

The AI is absolutely terrible though Razz

pCARS has been "pretty" for some time now, but this is getting silly. In fact it's getting so silly that these "trailer" videos can only be described with "four letter words" with their vowels drastically extended.......

All together now: "Fuuuuuuuu....."

And I get to play it when I get home Cheers

As Richy has touched on, the physics even at this early stage far outstrip anything you'll find on Forza 4 or GT5. There are a lot of bugs but it is, very definitely, worth the issues Twisted Evil
