Small minded or a competent understanding of what drives a Sim racing community on the console side?

I never said it wasn't a brilliant game, like I never said fm5 wasn
I was just voicing my opinion oot carrying past the face value because the lack of features that communities like TORA thrive on. Where games others died because there wasn't anything to keep ppl involved. I hate that I was right about Forza 5, but I love that I was wrong too.

As for Cars, I'm still on the fence of getting this on the 18th or letting others influence my decision to purchase at a layer date.

Still looks sound and sounds like it will be a really good game. Packed full of stuff!!

It's a shame about the paint editor... Maybe it will be added in a patch, maybe it can be implemented using some online system, I dunno. For me, not a huge deal... I does take away some of the identity people like to have with their cars though.

I'll be waiting for others to play it, or for a demo or something, before I get it. I more worried about the handling.

if they can implement a feature similar to how EA had a paint editor in NASCAR 09, then it should be suffice.

d/l a template for a given car, paint it up with a painting program on your computer, upload finished design onto a server of some kind so you can d/l it straight into the game from your server account...

Exactly. That is actually a feature on the PC version of GRID Autosport, I believe Smile

First comes the racing, after that comes everything else.

I didn't sign up here to have my pretty car on a TORA poster, or have my 1 second of fame on Motors TV. The racing makes this place, everything else is just an added bonus. I'll take driving around in a plain colour car with no problems at all.

By no means is the lack of an editor a deal breaker for me. Its just a new game, with a new take on our love for Sim Racing. So there is going to be some growing pains.

Even the old NASCAR thunder style of preset designs and logo /logo placements but your own number would make me happy haha

I'm looking forward to it regardless as Turn 10 hasn't had any competition and thus has to led to what we call fm5.

I'm going to wait and see what others think. We've only seen PC gameplay so it could be different on console. Graphics don't make a game. The physics are what's important, especially in a racing game.

There's quite a few PS4 vids available now. There will, no doubt, be X1 vids coming once we reach Eurogamer where that console then gets it's air time.
From what I've seen of the console vids so far, wheel or otherwise, the handling seems not too bad, there's always an essence of 'over-sensitivity' when controllers are used. So I was expecting that.

I'm all pre-ordered up, looking forward to a different experience. Smile

I just rage quit after every first lap. Personally I don't like the physics as it's so bouncy, slidey and overly responsive. Played with both the 360 controller and my Thrustmaster TX wheel, neither seem to have good default set ups and it took me ages to get the wheel feeling acceptable. Also the AI just runs into and through you every time they get near you.

That's just my experience, I already bought into the Alpha years ago and have played most builds since. There's quite a lot of discussion about what the people who paid into the game already will get, some chat about us not actually getting the full game at the end of it which is why I wanted to pre-order the LCE. Bit disillusioned with the whole thing, so not willing to give them any extra money until I know what the final retail version will be like.

IIRC with every build the control physics with both the Controller and a wheel aren't good. I mean, they update the physics, and then all the controller physics get messed up, so in the next build or so they fix them.. Until a new physics update happens.

if your refering to the video Soundwave posted Chaddy, it looks like it was uploaded Jan of 2013, and the description says "Pre Alpha Build #387" so there's about 20 months of fixes/updates since that was recorded/uploaded
