thanks
Thanks to all who took part last night. This was my first time out in TORA and loved it. It's a pleasure to race against great drivers and see how the game should be played. My little F430 had a few issues (Mainly...the driver)lol, but happy(ish) with the result. Big ups to mopar, for a job well done. Thanks again to everyone for a great evening.

Re: TORA GT General Discussion
There is. Look at the drivers table. The highest privateer is winning, and next highest is second, etc etc
Re: TORA GT General Discussion
Just FYI, the results and standings sheet is not working correctly. Instead of sorting by total championship points, it is going off of best finish.

the GT series has a 'Dropped' round, where your lowest point race is disregarded

Re: TORA GT General Discussion
Quick question, is it possible for someone to slide into my car as I will be no longer racing or is the car basically retired from the series? Not sure how to work that one. Let me know, I am willing to give all my current tunes for the car away if wanted. Thanks.

Re: TORA GT General Discussion
Why can you not take part anymore? That's a real shame, and you'll be missing out on the prizes on offer.
Anyways, news from last nights meetings:
This is the final time I will let things slide without penalty, and I feel I'm being more than generous letting things go for this long...
1.
From meeting 3 onwards, you must be posted in half hour before the race meeting takes place, and be on xboxlive by 8pm to get an invite for qualifying. If not, you won't get an invite. CandymanCody and GLR Insanity both posted within this time frame, and from the next meeting, this will mean that you won't get an invite for qualifying. I don't want to be harsh, but it just delays things even further than what xboxlive can do. It took us 15 extra minutes to get qualifying underway, and this was delayed more later when we had the connection issues.
2.
Due to the high number of complaints received for the last two meetings from other drivers, I'm afraid to say that if GLR Diablo's connection doesn't improve (this will be assessed during qualifying) then he will have to sit out for the remainder of the series. As said, we'll possibly see you next race, and we'll see how the connection is during qually.

I made a post already in the Race 2 thread about this matter. I do not normally have connection issues, for example, I just ran a speed-test and it was at 47.7 mb/s DL, 36 mb/s UL, and 8 ms Ping. But for some reason for this event I am having large amounts of connection problems mid race. The issue as I found out this morning was in addition to T10 maintenance being done, our server was also having maintenance done at the same time. To avoid any more connection issues (apologies to Ian who I lag-spiked), I will be dropping out of the series. I am going to run Super GT at VM and if the connections do not improve, I just won't race on Sundays.
Cheers.

Re: TORA GT General Discussion
Nope I don't. I'm at college so there is literally nothing I can do to fix my connection. There has been some bandwidth issues and I believe that's the issue. When too many are logged onto the network all hell breaks loose.

Re: TORA GT General Discussion
Doesn't the super GT run at the same time as this? with more people probably, meaning they will have the same kind of connection issues as we had during this race. It is nobody else's fault other than xbox live.
Oh and i will never run that series, always hated JGTC since anthing higher than R3 to me is redundant and no fun.

Re: TORA GT General Discussion
Can I propose this series starting an hour earlier or later than it does now? I mean if this is going to be a regular thing that we have serious connection issues due to maintinence, maybe a change in time might be a good thing?
Just my 2 cents.

Re: TORA GT General Discussion
It does run at the same time and that's part of my test. If I have connection problems there too, then I will be out of all Sunday events. If I don't have problems, then it must be somehow connection issues with people over here.
I talked with someone today about the connection troubles here and they had to shut the network down from 10 PM- 6 AM this morning since things were so bad. That I think may have been the issue. I've been here since late August and I haven't ever had connection problems until now.

Re: TORA GT General Discussion
I knew that, plus they have already like 47 people signed up, i seriously doubt they will get through the nights without problems also, I don't know what is going on here since we ran a couple 16 player lobbies back in the GT24 series and it was nice and smooth.gen3ral ts0 wrote:TrooperR6 wrote:Doesn't the super GT run at the same time as this? .

maybe knock it down to 12 person lobbies or something?

Re: TORA GT General Discussion
On the topic of lobby size,
Through many organized online races this year so far, having 12 player lobbies is usually way more stable, and the paint jobs load much better and more often. It doesn't seem to help the lobby crash issue during loading, but once the race starts, it seems to go very well. Race one of this series, lobby one had no paints, and that sucked as the racing was amazing. All other lobbies had full paint jobs. This being the second race, same thing happenned. Lobby one had no or little paints, and all of the other lobbies had full paint jobs, and very little other problems.
In conclusion, I feel that the racing is better with 12 than 8, and the added benefit of having 16 doesn't seem to out weigh the benefits of having 12. I hope this series continues to have a strong showing, with even more epic racing, but until Forza figures out what it wants, we will all suffer for it.

Re: TORA GT General Discussion
A lot of universities use the same type of hardware/infrastructure and a microsoft update came along and slowed the mess out of any system using the update (at least that's how my university explained it to us about 2 months a go.) I can maintain a stable (albeit slightly slower) wired connection but there's always so many people on the wifi there is no bandwidth to go around (basically all the female population are using their macs as $2000 facebook machines and everyone else is torrenting) But my connection at school is still untested with TORA.GLR Diablo wrote:Nope I don't. tl;dr - Try going with a wired connection, it shouldn't be affected by number of people on the network
Re: TORA GT General Discussion
Should have added, my connection is already wired. They have taken measures to reduce bandwidth (no printers/game consoles on wireless).
I raced tonight in public lobbies and in private ones and I had absolutely no issues... The public's reached 15 people twice.
