IFCA Top 40 List
The latest IFCA Top 40 ratings List is up and has expanded to 265 drivers! See if you are on the list! http://ifca.highforum.net/t5124-ifca-top-40-ratings-list
Re: IFCA Top 40 List
Hi GTDon, could you explain how the points are calculated please? Nice to see that there are a few TORA people on there (including myself) but no idea what we've done in order to get there!!

Is there somewhere that explains the scoring system?
Fantastic to have such a list though, it must have taken a bit of work to produce!

Re: IFCA Top 40 List
Im on there too, would be good to understand the system in place. It's about as understandable as the Castrol Rankings at the mo!
Re: IFCA Top 40 List
Something like they use results of series' and then points scored depend on where you finished in the championship then it all gets added up across various series'

Re: IFCA Top 40 List
I'm not sure of the details on how it works, but Don asked which is our best series to base our rankings on and I suggested the TORA GT24 and Season 7 as a starting point. I don't know how far back into TORA GT he went.
The list can't be right though...I'm in front of Facepalmer lol

Re: IFCA Top 40 List
I don't quite understand how these points work; based on just one series. But 39th! WOO HOO!
It's nice to see some other TORA veterans inside the top 100 as well.

Re: IFCA Top 40 List
Hi Guys, Richy is correct, the list is compiled from selected series from leagues such as TORA, FMC, IFCA, VM, RWS, SimRacers, and the ISRA. We can't do every series in every league, so we try to do the most popular ones. For TORA we sampled only 5 races in GT24 season 7. If you didn't do any of those races, you probably are not on the list unless we saw you at another race at one of the other leagues.
The ratings system is pretty simple even though it took a couple months to create it. At first you are assigned an approximate rating based on your qualifying time in a given race. Then, the computer program adds or takes away a limited number of ratings points based on where you are predicted to finish in a 16 man field based on your current rating at that time. If you are the highest rated driver in a given room, you will be expected to finish first, and either gain 0 points, or gain a small number of points depending on the strength of the other drivers in your room.
Typically if you finish where you are supposed to then there will be no ratings change for you. However, if you finish below your predicted finish, you will lose points, and even more so if vastly weaker rated drivers finish ahead of you. Conversely, those weaker drivers will gain points for finishing above their predicted place and ahead of stronger drivers. If you DNF, or quit a race for any reason, you are placed in last place, and can lose a maximum of 250 points, very bad, just as RZR Rayzer who had back to back DNF's and went from a Master rated driver to an Expert.
The formula is unique to Forza having borrowed elements from the iRacing system, and the scale from the USCF. We found that over time the ratings become very accurate, and is a good way to see at a glance where the entire league racing community that we know of stands.
http://ifca.highforum.net/t5249-sebring-ratings-results here you can see what a ratings result table looks like.
edit: One other note, this is a ratings chart or list more than a rankings chart, so it doesn't matter as much what your number is on the list as it does what driver class and rating you are.

Re: IFCA Top 40 List
That would make sense then, as I generally make up quite a few places in races.
