Re: 2012 TORA Wheldon 500
Unfortunately, I won't be able to do this race, because I don't have an Acura anymore for the race.

Re: 2012 TORA Wheldon 500
Really? Thanks so much, because when I got to choose a level 50 car, I chose the Muscle Milk Aston. Also, my TORA number number is 134 and my GT is cobrajetmustang, which means that you have to make a change on the entry list because it says mcqueen917k #99.

Re: 2012 TORA Wheldon 500
Okay, I've been practicing and polishing the gear settings. And I wanted to try and convert some laptimes in speed!
Did a three lap run, with a slight gear adjustment as I crossed the line to start lap 3. And you can tell that it worked!
216.51270 mph (41.568s)
216.63257 mph (41.545s)
217.00623 mph (41.473s)
To convert a lap time into speed, punch '2.5/(*time*/60/60)' into a calculator. You need to convert your lap time into hours, so you divide it by 60 twice, and to get the average speed, just do a simple Dist/Time division, which in this case is 2.5 Miles divided by your time in hours.
Anybody up for some practice tonight? I think with the right gearing and a good tow, 225+ is achievable.
Also, I would advise everybody to set 5th gear up as your top gear, and have 6th as the gear you use in the draft. You have to squeeze as much speed as possible out of the car, so if you are running on your own, you want to have your top gear as short as possible without the car hitting the rev limiter, so you'll need to use 6th gear for when you are in the draft and the speed increases.
I need to do some online practice to work out where 6th has to go.

Re: 2012 TORA Wheldon 500
Has anyone managed to break the 218 barrier yet (on their own of course)?
It's a lap time of 41.284s

Re: 2012 TORA Wheldon 500
I just realised I have been running with restrictors on.
So, me and Dan got some drafting practice in, and learned lots of good stuff for the race.
We both managed to break 225 while drafting. My quickest lap was 226.8259 mph.
Top speed on your own will be around 226-227 on the straights, and in the draft it will range between 230 and 240 depending on how far back you are before you enter the draft and hammer the throttle.
I'd expect qualifying pace to be between 220 and 223 mph.

Oh cock, I just realized that VM Classics start at the same time as this event. I might not be able to do it unless you move to next week, but people don't want that.

Re: 2012 TORA Wheldon 500
Just to have your TORA number on the hood and on the wing endplates (if possible). The paint itself is completely open to your artistic creativity
It's the Acura ARX-02a, and tuning is completely open. Fast as you can possibly make it.

Re: 2012 TORA Wheldon 500
I might not be able to make this race now.
Since I have gone through all of the trouble of painting a Greg Moore tribute car, would anybody like to use the livery?
There are still a few locked vinyls (Magnetti Marelli & Firestone), so, unless someone can gift me those vinyls asap, whoever wants to use this livery will have to get them off of the storefront.
