Re: Suggestions for a new mini-series
How about a TCC-lite series?
Open to short-wheelbase kei-cars that runs 75% of the TCC race distances and has 75% or less of the PI of the main series.
Cars would include things like the Fiesta, Aygo, Mazda2, 500, A200, xD, Agila, and even things like the Spark and 107 with a serious PI handicap.
I mean, SCCA has explored the idea, and even homologated the cars to spec:

Re: Suggestions for a new mini-series
You guys will love what I've got planned if you like the sounds of the SCCA idea
TORA Clubman Cup is very much in the works and all I need is a night to get a test race going so I can make sure the cars are balanced.
What with the MSA national motorsportweek coming up it could be the ideal time...unless anyone wants to see my 1980s cars and onwards rule set?

Re: Suggestions for a new mini-series
For the people who don't agree with the decision for the GT championship to change to the race GT cars. This is a good opportunity to keep the current series alive. Plus all the cars will be balanced if Simon & the rest of the staff are kind enough to let them be used. Could even choose our own tracks based on what the community wants or stick to the current ones.
Not run on Sunday nights though, I don't want it to be a rival to Season 9 of the GT's. Hey, this Is kind of like the breakaway series that threatened Formula 1 back in 2009

Since it seems like the new GTs will be R3+, this could be considered the support series...
If you space it right with the ISCC, this could be the Saturday race.

Re: Suggestions for a new mini-series
That's a good idea, Hailfire. But if it's on Saturday then it'll clash with TASCAR, which has seen the popularity skyrocket this year. I would definitely opt to do TASCAR instead, it's something different & the fastest & best series on TORA, in my opinion. I'd preferably like a Monday to Friday slot. Although, this is all dependent on the interest it gathers.

Re: Suggestions for a new mini-series
Friday Nights, then?
I mean, think of NASCAR. You have Trucks on Friday, Nationwide on Saturday, and Sprint Cup on Sunday.
Grand-Am has Continental Tire on Saturday and Rolex on Sunday.
Formula 1 has GP2 on Saturdays and F1 on Sundays.
I can almost see a tour of Porsche Cup on Thursdays, GT24 on Fridays, Saturdays "off," and TORA GT on Sundays.

Re: Suggestions for a new mini-series
For anyone that is interested, I have been working on WTCC'esque mini-series. I should have everything worked out by early next week, or, possibly by the end of the weekend if I can get the time.

Re: Suggestions for a new mini-series
I am thinking of Saturdays with start times about 6 or 7 pm GMT (about before the time that the GT mini-series usually starts at).

Re: Suggestions for a new mini-series
hehehe yeh sorry Simon - different shaders and higher polygon count goes a long way! As I said elsewhere, the next-gen consoles better bring their A game, or PC gmaing is going to come back with a vengeance!

Re: Suggestions for a new mini-series
I'm working on a predominantly oval based series for old muscle cars. Got a Mustang Mach 1, a Chevelle and a Falcon built up.
The Mustang and the Chevelle are very closely matched around Indy, they have almost identical stats. I haven't tried the Falcon yet, and I started building a Dodge Charger. I'll put them into the club garage, because they are mega fun to drive.
Need to make the Plymouth Cuda now too..

Re: Suggestions for a new mini-series
Thinking about the tracks that were cut from FM4 has made me think about popping in my copy of FM3.
I'm thinking a spec series, whether its Aussie V8s, NASCAR, or Porsche GT3s, on FM3 tracks including a couple shorter Sidewinder variants, NYC, and Bugatti...
Just an idea.

Re: Suggestions for a new mini-series
i was wondering if we could bring in a V8 supercar series again, i wouldn't mind getting all the rules and tracks set in if needed. if ppl are interested, let me know
