Have to agree with luke on this one yes hatchbacks are overtaking but as i was saying to someone yesterday both saloons and hatchbacks are getting much bigger and i personally would prefer to be i a hatchback so you can fit in much smaller gaps for overtaking Razz

Yeah, cars are getting bigger all the time. At Knockhill, they had a picture of an NGTC Civic next to an old Cavalier from 1992 in the programme. The Cavalier was tiny in comparison!

To me, the big Audi and the Insignia look far too big! Bunging all their weight everywhere like stock cars.

Rob Huff has been saying that he would like to return to BTCC as a WTCC drive seems much further out of reach for 2013. However he has also said he would be very selective over who he would drive for, not wanting to drive a underperforming car.

However with seats open at 888, WSR, Motorbase (if they decide to run 3 cars again) and potentially Pirtek aswell Huff could well be a great addition who could really mix up the field (or show up a lack of WTCC talent / RMR Chevrolet dominance)

I reckon Huffy would bring a proper fight to the regulars. And he's a genuinely nice guy to, he would definitely be a great addition to the paddock to counteract the Plato/Neal bullshite.

Huff with Triple 8 would be great to see, even if just to see how Plato handles a more equal team mate.

I think it would hurt them both if Huff went to 888 TBH.

Neate's biggest strength as a team mate was being so bad that the MG didn't get heavily penalised in the Turbo Pressure calibrations, thus remaining strong for Plato.

But thats in the past. Theres pleanty of cool NGTC cars to look forward to and lots of empty seats at top teams to be filled Very Happy

Been watching the 2012 BTCC review and yeah, Paul needs to be given a drive again this year. His runs with Speedworks were excellent. Especially at Knockhill. He proved that it wasn't just Wrathall who could get consistent performances out of that car.
Looking forward to seeing what happens with Gilham's Passat CC. I can't imagine it's going to be a front runner from the get go. Unless the guy has suddenly won the Euro Millions, development isn't going to be huge. I can see them fighting with Thorney and ES in the lower midfield.

I've always though the Astra would make a great looking NGTC car.

Best of luck to AMD, but wouldn't it just be great to see Vauxhall return with a works effort to take on Honda and MG? An Astra GTC NGTC would looks the dugs danglies.

So far, how 2013 could pan out for cars (11 makes with 17 different models/specs, and two works teams):

Honda Civic
Honda Civic S2000
MG6
Chevrolet Cruze 4dr (IP Tech)
Chevrolet Cruze 5dr (BTC Racing)
Chevrolet Cruze S2000
Ford Focus
BMW 1 Series
VW Golf S2000
VW Passat
Vauxhall Astra
Vauxhall Insignia
Vauxhall Vectra S2000
Toyota Avensis
Audi A4
Proton Gen 2
SEAT Leon S2000

Tasty stuff! It seems RML are also partly responsible for the 5dr Cruze's too.

Great to see the Rob Austin Racing + WIX Filters relationship strengthening for 2013. With a stable financial foundation We'll hopefully finally start to see the true potential of the Audi A4 that weve seen so many tantalising glimpses of in 2012
