TORA Spec Miata - General Discussion

The Spec Miata (SM) class is intended to provide the opportunity to compete in low-cost cars with limited modifications, suitable for racing competition. It is intended to encourage low cost, entry level, production car based competition.

As its name shows, Spec Miata is a "specified" class. This means that the rules for allowable modifications to the car are very strict. The class intends to put drivers on a very even footing by making their cars as identical as possible.

Because of the support of Mazda through Mazdaspeed, the wide availability of the car on the used market, plentiful and inexpensive parts, and the simplicity of maintenance on the cars, Spec Miata has become a very popular class. Wikipedia

Count me in. I'm still looking to buy a miata in real life. Just sold my crx yesterday so now I have an empty spot in the driveway that needs filled

What better way to get into the miata spirit than a little spec miata racing?

Sold the CRX? I know you had lots of time and love with that car. Must be heartbreaking seeing that empty spot of driveway.

I remember the driver of car number #92 in that being a really good looking chap, only my second online series ever and having owned an Xbox for only a couple of months, was an education. My driving skills have improved thankfully, and im still good looking, bargain!!!!

Finally found the Miata thread. TORA is a rather large race orginaization. All kinds of info to root through. Thanks for the invite Flyin Mikey. Look forward to this series. Friday nights right after supper. Dont get much better than that.

Same car, different build.

I went for a little heavier, a little less grip and a little less power. Makes for a slower lap, but a huge pack that can't seem to get away from each other.

If we get enough in one lobby, we should do a salute pace lap. Like the world of outlaws haha but only use 3 instead 4 to make the field appear bigger haha

If i buy the spec build how can i change my setups especifications? can you send like a gift, so i can open the setup?

you can remove the setup and then re install the parts to tune to your liking.

Sorry so late getting the build sheet up, I haven't written it down yet, and haven't been on the XBox since yesterday.

Damn. Was hoping this would be a locked tune. So it really is Spec Racing.

Kilroy, I think that there are only 3 adjustments that can be made: Diff, Tire Pressure, and maybe Brakes... but it's been a few weeks since I built/tested the car for Winter Heat so I am actually unsure the exact build.

I am thinking that I may need help with a second lobby come race time.

Awesome to see the amount of interest this is getting.

If possible and needed, I could run the second lobby
