TORA Spec Miata - General Discussion

Tire psi and diff are the only two adjustments. Which is fine by me, I'd rather everyone's cars be near identical.

I would prefer no adjustments so that it will truly show who the best driver is.

Tire pressures and brake pressure don't really affect the car-to-driver skill... I'm cool with that setup

wish i could run this but its just a little to early for me. damn

XPR will be doing team effort in this one, any chance of a possible teams championship coming into affect?

I hadn't even thought about a team's championship to be honest. It just seems to add more math to my job, so I doubt it

As a former racer, I may see things differently, but here goes my logic: Opening the tune takes away the option to cheat.

In a locked tune series, someone could theoretically cheat by adjusting something. With this sort of build, there are but two adjustables on the whole car: tire pressure and differential. And since everyone can adjust those two parts, it makes it that much harder to cheat.

So is the tune open our have to stay locked.

Wouldn't sending us a locked tune prevent us from cheating? Or are the adjustable tire pressure and differential separate from the tune?

That would keep honest people from cheating. Opening up the tune allows everyone to be on the same page.

After running a number of test races today at the series' circuits, I have to say that there was quite a bit of laughter and carrying on... just as there should be.

Honestly, difference in tire pressures and differential settings will not make someone 1-2 seconds faster then everyone else. Those two adjustable parts are not a big deal.

Almost finished the paint. It's crappy & not really 'racey'. Just how spec racing cheap production cars should look imo
