TORA Spec Miata - General Discussion

^ & ^^ Sorry that the time doesn't work for everyone, but it does work for many, and has very little conflicts with any series or league that I know of.

I have to say WOW, as I never expected so many entries. 23 and there is still a week and a half to go until the first round

36 Entries as of Saturday.

I hope to have some lobby host assistance, as it has become necessary. I am thinking that I will host the American half of the field for Quallies, and one of my trusted friends from the British Isles may be hosting the European contingent. Then come race time, I will host whichever lobby I am in (B most likely) so I will need someone quicker than I to host the A... unless I am in A, in which case I will need help hosting the B Lobby.

I need to get on Tubbi's pace bigtime.

I have a question: What IS the record number of entries for a Community Events series? I have a feeling that 41 has to be close to a record.

And after a few days of hosting practice lobbies for this series, I can only hope to hear as much laughter and good cheer over my headset come race time as I have heard all week. These cars aren't all that quick, but they seem to promote Fun.

And finally, tomorrow is the big day, the start of the 2013 Spec Miata Series. I want to thank everyone for their part in making this a success beforehand, just in case that nobody wants to ever talk to me again after the race.

I will not be continuing the miatta series.

With the amount of restarts and damage caused during races it seems almost a roll of the dice as to whether you can pass someone or have your race ended.

This said, it's been fun when the racing is clean.

Sad to hear that tubbi. What happened to you tonight was possibly my fault but we were just running side by side then suddenly we were hooked together. I can't begin to explain it.

I want to thank Bandit and silentalarm for their help. Things went much smoother this week all the way around.

Had a long day and totally forgot tonight was Friday. Didn't even think about it till about 10 minutes ago.

Was a bit much of that at Tsukuba, but Laguna Seca was actually pretty clean, well other than myself and tubbi, myself and TETR4REX, and myself and tubbi again.

I know now that the next Friday series will be "something less popular than Miatas" to get rid of pesky Quallies and multiple lobbies, as anything else is too late and takes too long and all that moan.

pal this cup is going great.

Week 1 overan sure but wk 2 was fine for time.
Mikey there will always be some that cant make 12-1.30gmt.
Thats why i like the timeslot as i get to meet drivers from around the world.

Not had a rolling start where the person next to me (behind on posistion)
has managed to keep posistion until the start line though.
Makes it hard to practice when it doesnt happen as you expect.

See you next week and dont sweat the numbers mikey. I wouldnt be racing with no line at midnight if it wasnt fun

hey mikey im having fun in what is my 1st TORA series yes there is a few mishaps here and there but that's what makes it interesting also with no breaking line its the drivers job to practice and learn the track I no a lot of people will say I no the track but its a lot different when racing with the line off anyway nice job mikey

Theres always going to be some moaning. Its racing. Your series is a dandy. I never race without the big red liar. I am much slower with it off, but it does allow me to stumble accross faster racing lines otherwise not attempted. Its not something easily mastered with limited practice. Aint nothing wrong with the series Mikey. Its my first series without the line, and enjoyable. I just always brake way early or late, but there aint a bigger rush than when you find that sweet spot. Thanks for the series. Looking forward to Friday at the Cat.

If you want a less popular series, completely max out a Mini Cooper with all conversions and force traction control off. That should bring the attendance down.

Glad to see that so many are still having fun and enjoying the series.

i'm not a pro driver, but i raced in a few series lately, so I appreciate clean driving and I try to drive clean myself

Regarding the build, is there any one available or is it to build by ourself with the limitations on the series page?

Regarding the livery, is there a spare one? I am a really UN-talented designer!

Looking forward to my first outing in this series tonight. I finally got myself a wheel so maybe I can start being somewhat competitive!

Guys... I just wanted to thank everyone who took part in tonight's race for one epic event. Race 2 was some of the most intense racing I have seen, as the whole field seemed to be one snarling pack. Replay will be on my Storefront within the next day or so. Congrats go out to JKGrizzle in what I believe is his first TORA win

Sorry to my friends at XPR, as you all had the most crap luck I have ever seen one team have in a single race. Too bad you all couldn't finish in what was one of the wildest battles of the whole series.
