Re: TORA TEC Spa 12H - General Discussion
For some reason when I enter the TORA TEC forum section I don't see the section for this race? I only see Daytona through Bathurst forums. I only found this post by looking at the "latest topics" scroll on the left side of the website. I've checked with both a laptop and with an iPhone... anyone have any ideas what could be wrong? I was hoping to find a ride for this race but I can't even find the thread LOL

Re: TORA TEC Spa 12H - General Discussion
Just an idea for next season,
- The cars should run through BOP on a neutral track or 3 different tracks then the builds are set for the season.
- If a car seems to be doing too well handicap it slightly (not change the build) but do it after 2 races so if the car is just strong on a track and but poor on the next it doesnt get held back too much.
- No car changes unless a new model is introduced then you are only allowed to switch to the new model
- But still no limit on driver changes
This way people get more than a week to test before quali and would also in my opinion would mix it up abit as every car will have its strong tracks and its weak tracks so as a team you have to do your best every round.

Good suggestions. I would say that we figure out a different system than starting by qualifying positions for each stint. If a team skips a stint, lags out or whatever, should they still be starting, for example, 3rd on the grid or whatever? Shouldn't teams in lobby B be rewarded for their efforts by being able to move up? We've seen stint delays being used to sort grids. Something to consider for the future.

Amen! Gives drivers in the lower lobbies something extra to fight for besides the lobby victory! Yeah they might get destroyed in lobby A, but it's a good incentive to have imo

Re: TORA TEC Spa 12H - General Discussion
I feel like the BoP method should remain for next year.. It gives the cars a better chance to be balanced and competitive on EVERY track since the builds are specific to each one. Plus, with the new and bigger Development team now, we have more hands on board with testing and making the builds so the whole process will be more efficient.

Re: TORA TEC Spa 12H - General Discussion
But dont you think itd be better having more than a week to test. I know from experience from bathurst that due to work i had no testing till i had to qualify and i cant be the only 1. Plus having teams commit to cars would make it easier for new drivers to race every race as they might not be able to afford the better car. And itd make it closer at the top with the cars having bad tracks and good ones, but obvs all the big teams will still be on top

You could have been testing with the bathurst set that would have been the smart thing to do?
Some track time is better than non at all? Even if its 2 pi out

Test the Builds from Bathurst, its just common sense tbh, not much will change to the cars maybe a Add or Removed Tyre Width wont be major stuff happening.

There's a whole Dev team behind this and we're aiming for next year and its respective championships. We'll see out this year doing what's been done, with the knowledge that we can make things easier for ourselves next year by putting in the work now.

Re: TORA TEC Spa 12H - General Discussion
Spa in the wet is a joke. Silverstone is the best, Nurb GP is alright too but I think only VEC goes there and we did that there.

Agreed the wet on forza is beyond raceable in anyform of racing. Its nice to have it but seems they overdid it so they could say we have rain now

Formula One '97 had rain which was fantastic back them. This hydroplane bollix is...well, bollix.

Re: TORA TEC Spa 12H - General Discussion
Yes SPA is naff in the wet it's near impossible to race in it ,Night is also a bit of a issue in terms of streaming as 90% of the track is pitch black but obviously there will be a night session but not too many I hope.
Re: TORA TEC Spa 12H - General Discussion
If you want to make it as real as it gets, it would be three stints at day and three stints at night, since the sun sets at around 8:30PM at this time of the year and it would be completely dark around 9:30PM.
When orienting on the BST starting times ^^.

Re: TORA TEC Spa 12H - General Discussion
Or do 3/4 night stints simulating the 24hrs in 12hrs? Less night stints for streaming issue too

WET is amazing at spa, id love a wet stint even if just 1. anything is raceable given the drivers use their brain.

I don't care about streaming issues to be honest
It's nice to have a chance on spectating the race when your team mates are racing but avoiding night stints just because spectators wouldn't be able to see much is in my opinion idiotic.

Thats what I'll be doing, I did same for the 24hr races, I check the sunset times on the date of the race at the track location, and every stint which starts after the sunset but before sunrise I set as a night stint.
I'll take a look at this properly actually and add this to the lobby settings bit
nights weren't in for bathurst as we didn't have that option and I was just adding everything from that section and updating it so missed the night stints part of it
Wet to be honest is a bit mental on Forza as you can't have wet, instead it's a major storm which you wouldn't actually race in but I'll see what others say, if the weather report for spa is dry though we definitely won't be doing wet. Maybe start in the wet if there is like an 85% chance of rain? I'll see what others say first though
