Re: Project CARS.
Hopefully we will see server support for X1 rather than having to settle for P2P thanks to PSN. Gives them more time to work on stability and other such features.
It's the casual gamers (i.e the harder money to win) that they'd upset with this rather than the core sim racers who will appreciate the reasons to delay (we're also the tougher audience to please!) So why not wait a little longer and ensure the userbase is happy with the product rather than suffer the FM5 style wrath when they release a rushed incomplete product.
The argument of 'well they could do online updates' is moot because they'd still have to release an incomplete product and it's thatr they would be judged on regardless of the improvements made over time.
Look at the flack that FM has taken for FM5 even though the game is in a far more useable condition now than at launch. The people who care have long memories.

Re: Project CARS.
And if Codies release F1 2015 for next gen in March/April (they did say it would be earlier than usual) will PCars get put back again?!
My understanding is that they are polishing the game (which to me means minor adjustments until I see otherwise) and wanting to make the game viable (have a monopoly on the market at time of release). Seems a bit of a tossy reason to me, the least they could do is release a demo version (offline, a single seater, a gt and a touring car, 2/3 tracks) by way of appeasement.

Re: Project CARS.
I'm not buying most of their statement. My understanding is the game still has not been sent for certification. This means there's no way they could have a November release. It also tells me it's still far from finished. This is becoming standard fare for this company. We've been reading and hearing about this game for what, close to two years now? And still nothing solid. IF this ever does hit the shelves, it had better be the best damn racing sim ever, or it will be a bigger fail than FM5!!
Re: Project CARS.
the delay doesn't concern me. Good for them, what concerns me is i don't believe their statement one bit. There is a lot more to it then what is said, and who is to say that what we get in March isn't any better to what we were told or eluded to what we get in Nov?

Re: Project CARS.
Let's keep the sniping to a minimum shall we? Suffice to say, the final release is March for whatever reasons SMS see fit. Yes we've heard about the game for two years. So? They're producing it in a way never really attempted before and we must not forget that. Some people are flying very close to fanboyism. Yes Forza is an excellent product but sometimes you need something new to come along to break a community out of its comfort zone. We should be welcoming the change rather than slamming them. Remember, there's a heck of a lot of people playing it on PC right now. I'm damn envious of them

Re: Project CARS.
My laptop won't quite run it and I'd rather wait for the console version to get optimised graphics and all the bells and whistles.

Re: Project CARS.
Laptops are all well and good but a tower is so much easier to upgrade.
Ebuyer offer a deal on graphics cards etc if you buy lump sum.
My brother did it for £280 and is now able to run i racing and includes an ssd!

Re: Project CARS.
I have a PC powerful enough to comfortable play it but after several attempts to get into PC gaming I just can't do it. I'd rather play on a console. I think the full PC sim is really suited for wheel and pedals and I just don't have the space for that at the moment. I'm patient enough to wait until March, plenty of games to keep me occupied until then

No sniping or fanboyism intended! Forza WAS a great product. FM5 is crap, which is why the community is hungering for something new. We would gladly welcome the change if it ever gets delivered. So far all we have is a lot of hype and promises. The are a heck of a lot of people playing a BETA.
Re: Project CARS.
Matt its not a case of sniping or fanboyism from me. I wasnt impressed when they decided to drop Xbox 360 and PS3 after marketing that way from the get go, now they move the release date back because of competition. Unless they include even 1 feature they havent already got in there as part of this "polishing" then it will be painfully obvious they moved to avoid competition. There'll be competition any time, just release the game! If its going to sell it'll sell whether Forza, Driveclub, GTA or whatever is released at the same time. Frankly the xmas market is surely the best time to release, because if the gamer cant afford it, someone would get it them for xmas you'd think?!
The least they should do by way of appeasement is release a demo. Because right now I'm wondering whether this game will end up PC only and we'll have been waiting for nothing. Its been delayed enough already

Re: Project CARS.
Then note my comment regarding the casual gamer? The main aim for EVERY gaming company is to attract them even if it's for a purchase play for twn minutes then exchange, its a sale.
With so many top line games launching either on the same week or very very near I totally understand their decision, as a NEW IP owner with their own members investment to launch at a time that is likely to provide a better return for their investors (the fans) and themselves.
The bottom line is March is the date, it works better as the real motorsport season is getting underway, it's well enough away from the XMas rush to ensure likelihood of more purchases AND there's no similar titles due until October at a push (if FM6 even exists)
They can develop the game knownign that the core racers both on PC and console will, most likely, purchase it anyway becuase it offers the best opportunities on the NG consoles. However, as we found with FM5, the casual gamer HAS to come into the equation.
I would also believe that while they aren't pointing fingers directly that there may well be some issues with the console versions in terms of parity. I blame PSN

Re: Project CARS.
I have been eagerly anticipating the release of Project C.A.R.S. and was so looking forward to getting this shortly, however, I am completely happy to wait for SMS to release the game they want to release, rather than a rushed game that needs patching after release.
Too many games get released in an unfinished / rushed state and it's always the gamers that suffer. The devs / promoters / shops get our money and we get a half arsed unfinished product. I can't think of any other industry that sells products that are either not yet ready for release to the public or are unfinished and yet time and time again we, gamers, STILL buy them.
How many AAA titles have been released lately that had all aspects of the game, from single player campaign to online multi-player, working properly with no issues? Anyone?
For me personally, I am looking for a racing game that will be the answer to all the missing elements from Forza and GT for league racing. From 3-race events with the ability to manually set a grid, to endurance events that will allow 2 or more players to "share" a car seamlessly over a 6 or 12 or 24 hour period, you know, like real life! I know it's a BIG ask for a game to be able to handle this but this is the sort of thing that leagues have been wanting for ages and hopefully PC can deliver and if waiting for a few more months to allow them the ability to fine tune and polish then so be it.
At the moment we have to make do with what Forza offers us to be able to run the race series. It's not ideal, good though Forza is (and I'm referring to FM4 NOT FM5) it just doesn't have the all the functionality to cater for league racing, but then again, no racing game currently does either.
I cancelled my original XB1 purchase at the 11th hour just because I had a feeling that the only game I was interested in for the XB1, Forza 5, was not going to be what I expected or hoped it would be; I was right.
I have now been looking to get an XB1 specifically to play Project C.A.R.S. as I actually have faith that this game will be what I have been waiting for; a true next-gen racing experience, and all the feedback from gamers who are playing the game right now, and real life racers like Ben Collins, Nicholas Hamilton, Oliver Webb etc who have been praising the handling & the physics and I trust their opinion over any gamer as they are the guys who drive these cars for real.
I for one cannot wait, but I will, as I want the best experience possible and it looks like so do SMS.

Re: Project CARS.
safe to say it's going to be extremely pretty indeed! Just something as simple as getting the light to react properly with surfaces and showing up the bumps and imperfections in the track is just mesmerizing.
it could even be the first time we'd have to seriously consider the implications of fog during a race

TEC is going to be sick with day/night and weather. Hopefully they'll have the livery creator implemented by the time the game rolls around in March. I want my Flying Lizard Audi R8! lol
