Re: BTCC 2012
Nope, but mostly because their season hasn't started yet.
Cars looked nice in the renders, but when you actually see the Saab in the flesh, it looks like a big awful flimsy Solution F car.. Which is what it is.

Re: BTCC 2012
I think it's unfair to point the finger at BTCC and say the driving is poor, the driving standards at times can be outstanding, and in some cases inspirational - thinking Shedden getting rid of his broken wing at Snett last year!
Any series that involves tight tracks and close racing will have these moments, as was seen in the clios and ginettas as well as BTCC yesterday. I certainly wouldn't say that drivers in lower formats are influenced to drive badly by the BTCC as they are surely much more aware of the costs incurred damaging your car.
At the end of the day every series will have its hot-headed moments, where all it takes is one miscalculation to ruin someone else's race, such as what happened in the STCC last year. Watch Jason Watt's white Seat Leon in the middle of the pack at this rolling start.
Or what happened in DTM to Premat. Even Di Resta getting spun before it.

Re: BTCC 2012
The MG had great handling and good top speed but the Ford ST was clearly the fastest in a straightline with the BMW next up.

Re: BTCC 2012
I think I must have been watching a different race to you lot - the worst of the buggers was Collard, who was on top banger racing form! Looking forward to seeing Wrathall working his way up the pack this season.
Agree though - the marshalling was no where near as good as non-BTCC races (that said, there's a saying that everyone elses' incident is easier to deal with than your own!). Though I'll admit, we're off to Thruxton and Silverstone to marshal, but expect to have 20 on post. Crazy crazy stuff. But, on a kinder note to the marshals - please remember this is likely to be a lot of their first days out this year, and if you think it looks easy or you can do a better job, come join us! It's good fun!!

I'm a marshal too mate - that's why I wasn't too harsh on them, focussing on the pre-weekend training instead. No doubt the mid-season will have some far better marshalling. PS try flagging and incident marshalling corner two of Rockingham for F3 with one other person who has no incident experience and with no cover between yourself and start line
Re: BTCC 2012
sounds like a normal day at Rock from what I gather?! You up at Combe this weekend? Matt and I are. For my sins, I have been plonked on startline (incident, not specialist).
