Re: Project CARS.
The sooner the better! Rumours are it will use an off-the-shelf PC Nvidia graphics chip, which should make it easier to port PC titles over

Re: Project CARS.
It would need to be for cost reasons! The latest chips cost £400+ which wouldn't be economical. A console will always get much higher levels of performance from the same hardware than is possible with a PC - as it's not running all the OS processes that a PC has to. As long as it can run 1080p games at 60fps, I'll be happy!

Re: Project CARS.
No I agree, the whole card, RAM and processor will solely be used to run the game that is in the drive at the time with a small percentage being used for some minor background tasks. They can get a hell of a lot of power out of a machine like that.
I think it was Joystick who put together a Playstation 4 themselves based on the rumoured specs and it was capable of running a modern PC game at 1080p and around 60fps and that was still doing most of the windows background tasks.
I really hope this upcoming generation will be outstanding and not just a bit better than the current one. I have an uber powerful PC and whilst I buy more games for it than the consoles just now because all the games are far superior, it still doesn't feel like its into a different generation than the 360.

Quote from Joystiq, although it's all just rumours.
AMD released the 6000 series in the tail end of 2010.
The next-gen Xbox's GPU will derive from 2011's AMD 6000 series, similar to the Radeon HD 6670, which supports DirectX11, 1080p HD, multi-display output and 3D, IGN reports, citing sources close to the project. Mass production of its GPU will begin at the end of 2012, IGN says, with a full-console launch scheduled in October or November 2013.
With these specs, the next Xbox will have six times the processing power of the Xbox 360 and is expected to support performance 20 percent greater than Nintendo's Wii U, which is using the R770, a chip that is competitively stronger than the GPUs of both the Xbox 360 and PS3.
AMD released the 6000 series in the tail end of 2010.
There is reason to doubt this report, however. Digital Foundry editor Richard Leadbetter notes that the Radeon HD 6670 is "an unremarkable entry-level enthusiast product" that "struggles to run Battlefield 3 at 20 frames-per-second on high settings at 1080p." While closed console environments do generally produce more efficient results, Leadbetter told Eurogamer that "it would be a curious choice for a platform holder looking to sustain another lengthy console lifecycle."
The supposed GPU for the next generation Xbox would be quite dated by late 2013, and will probably seem ancient seven years into the next Xbox's lifecycle.
Re: Project CARS.
i hope the next gen xbox will be capable of three screens from one xbox, or three screen in one if you have a massive TV or projector to do it in.

Re: Project CARS.
LOL guys please go listen to epic battle axe podcasts, The devlopers have no idea what graphic cards are going to be on the next xbox quad sli, or a rumored 4 gig power hous, things is next gen is a dev mode yet we will see what they do but they need 2 be 4-6 times as powerfull as current ps3 and xbox to have the life span they need to get the £
But getting back on track I cant wait to give this a go

Re: Project CARS.
I made a quick preview of Project CARS - Formula B around Belgian Forest (Spa) and Northampton (Silverstone) (sorry about poor quality graphics, my laptop barely runs the game, let alone capturing the video with FRAPS too!)

Re: Project CARS.
Project CARS have agreed a deal with Ford to bring 11 Ford's to the game, including the brand new 2013 Australian V8 Supercar and the 2012 BTCC Focus.
1972 Escort RS1600
1966 Mustang 2+2 fastback
1967 Ford MK IV
1980 Capri (Group 5 – Team Zakspeed)
1988 Sierra RS500 Cosworth (Group A)
1997 Mustang Cobra (SCCA Trans-Am)
2012 Fusion NASCAR Stock Car
2012 Focus ST
2012 Focus ST (BTCC)
2013 Falcon FG (Australian V8 Supercar Car of the Future)
2013 Ford Shelby GT500
Looking forward to the BTCC Focus - with 4 real BTCC tracks included too (Silverstone, Brands Hatch, Snetterton, Oulton Park). Car is pretty much identical to the WTCC Focus too, so with the addition of Suzuka, Oschersleben, Monza and Brno would be easy to create a combined BTCC/WTCC series

Re: Project CARS.
That's a pretty good line up of cars there! Especially with Bathurst in there..
I'm really looking forward to this now, it has tonnes of potential, great tracks and great cars.

Re: Project CARS.
That's got to be the first officially sanctioned BTCC car in a game since Race Driver! Excellent. Will have to wait for the console version though. Laptop just won't do it justice

Have you not heard that iRacing is getting the new BTCC Civic?

Re: Project CARS.
Great, I just finished cleaning up the mess I made made earlier after watching the video of just the first time lapse and then you had to post that!
Does anyone else kind of find it funny to watch the "spectators" in the last time lapse (around 2:25). Those dedicated fans did not move from their spots all day long!

Re: Project CARS.
This game (if the feature allows) could make for some EPIC endurance races.

Re: Project CARS.
I wouldn't get too excited just yet, driving games are all about the handling physics. A few years ago I remember getting well hyped up for GRID from looking at the amazing graphics and that turned out bad, traded it in within a week. Looks promising though with the development team thats behind it, but promising it will remain till I get to play a finished version.
