Finalized the number boards and such, put them on another car to see what they were like. I have the set complete if anyone wants it, I will post up a paint guide car for when the series starts, showing locations and such. I have also added a photo of the Scirocco R with the url banner along the bottom of the window because of it's panoramic sunroof. It does look much better. So far I have only found that the Scirocco R, Scion tC and Citreon DS4 require this (the DS4 isn't too bad, but it's still far back)

Thanks, I will gift out the template to people in the test group if you want. I would also like to get some more group editing going soon, maybe tomorrow or Wednesday night. I'd like to try the start procedure again, and in different tracks. I'm not sure how great it will be with the difference between FWD and RWD after some of the shambles from last night.
@Mark - The paint is ckBrennekes as we trade pains sometimes, so I can't hand it out freely

I'll help out with group testing again if we can agree on a day/time - although I tend to think there's bound to be some 'issues' with starts no matter what the procedure. This is more down to the mixed build nature of the series along with the wide spread of skills of the drivers involved, rather than particular issues with start procedures.
We did numerous starts the other night without the slightest problem - but then we had a grid full of skilled, experienced racers

Re: TCC Season 7 (Q1 2013) Testing - Phase 2 Open - *** Car List & Testing Instructions on Page 1 ***
There definately has to be some sort of penalty in place for a driver who stalls because a restart and allowing them to retake their original grid spot unpenalised gives too much of an easy out.
You let them take their original grid spot but with a yellow card. Two yellow cards in any 4 race span makes a red card and you either: 1) start from the back of your lobby at the 1st race of the next meeting or 2) get demoted 1 lobby for 1 race meeting.
Also - one yellow card could be issued per race start - if any subsequent drivers stall they get demoted to the back of the grid for the race restart (similar to false starts in track events like the 100M but with going to the back rather than disqualifying them).
FWD/RWD starts should be down to the team/privateer to factor into their car choice and up to the individual to control imo.
Finally, good luck to all the stewards dealing with the mass of SIs from Catalunya.

Re: TCC Season 7 (Q1 2013) Testing - Phase 2 Open - *** Car List & Testing Instructions on Page 1 ***
Great to see the amount of development that has went in to this since I went offline with my home move.
BT royally F'd my connection up, was supposed to be active from the 17th December, which in fairness it was, but I suffered numerous random disconnections, and whenever I tried to browse or download anything I got timed out. Anyway, it works for now...
When I was integrating the RWD, I was getting roughly equal times between the RWDs and FWDs at the various PI levels I tried, but I'm guessing that was more my limitations at driving RWDs than the builds. Gonna go rebuild my list to these new PIs and try them out.
The one subject I wanted to raise was the one of set builds. For those not aware, I proposed that each team had to finalise a build pre-season (or pre-entry). The build would be submitted to TORA, who would construct it and extract details from it such as torque, BHP, boost etc. Telemetry could then be used post-race to ensure everyone was using their finalised builds.
The reason for this is that since I started writing the TCC regs for every season since 2008, it has irritated the sh!t out of me that car builds were being changed between every race to suit the track. In retrospect, the previous build regs were a lot more open to allow this, which is why season after season I narrowed the build margins to restrict the car being rebuilt to suit the next track.
At the end of the day, we are trying to recreate - as close as we can with a virtual environment - real racing, and real racing cars don't get redesigned before the next track. Some cars have strengths and weaknesses from track to track, and I'd like to retain that if we can, as it may mix things up a bit. There are bound to be tracks that better suit FWDs than RWDs and vice versa, but if you can reconstruct your car even slightly to negate those weaknesses, then it kinda loses something of the challenge, in my eyes.
Anyway, my ckBrenneke live account has gone silver atm, and that is my main one - should demand BT give me a month's gold to make up for their delays - and with all my money gone from buying a new house and fixing my Civic - front right wheel sensor failed, £200 for a Honda replacement that took ages to arrive, so no ABS or TCS while that was broken, then two weeks later my rear discs and pads went, so about £400 in all to fix including labour Still need to get the front pads and discs doen before April or they'll fail MOT, and my front left droplink for the anti-roll bar is worn and clanking... as you can see, a new Gold membership is a luxury at the moment. My other account, Brenneke, is still active, but that Xbox is in a cupboard right now, have only used it about twice since I moved in.
Anyway, I digress, off to try these out!

Re: TCC Season 7 (Q1 2013) Testing - Phase 2 Open - *** Car List & Testing Instructions on Page 1 ***
We did this at VM and IFCA with the Stock Hatch cars and the people who suffer most are the new guys. Most of us here will do our due diligence and create an optimal build while someone who isn't as quick or good at building cars will not. It further increases the gap between the fast people, team or not, and the slower people learning. Those slower people may pick something up as you go and not be able to change it and flat out quit racing. Those are the people you want to attract, build around, and watch improve.
If you did want to do this (or a version of it), and it would also help the series and actual balancing of the cars is to create builds in each one that are locked. No changes can be made so no exploits can be found.
Just an observation, I like any idea. They all have positives and negatives.

tbh Scot, these new rules don't allow for much variance in terms of performance, so the cars all race well and there is not stand out machine even with multiple builds.

totally agree Richy.
Scot these are the best TCC cars we have ever had, infact the cars actual can go around corners!
racing looks like once tetsing is completed will be fantastic, be great to get you racing once more
Re: TCC Season 7 (Q1 2013) Testing - Phase 2 Open - *** Car List & Testing Instructions on Page 1 ***
That's cool, I'm more than okay with that, just means it was nailed in getting the regs (almost) perfect!
BTW, like the new numberboards Richy. I know mine weren't great from last year, I was just trying to do something different and minimally intrusive, while capturing elements of the STCC, BTCC and WTCC layouts. Looks great on my Focus. Did I give you both the Nash and Chilton liveries?
The Let's Race logo on the Chilton livery is there because it's one of his personal sponsors - like almost everything else on the Focus, it's owned by his dad!

Yeah, I liked last years boxes but they were a bit big. Just copied the WTCC ones basically. I can send you the paint

I ran a few of the cars late last night. I'm just pressed for time ATM on the game but I'm doing what I can.
