Why don't web put RWD back up to 580 and see how they going racing wise against the FWD cars?

Re: TCC Season 7 (Q1 2013) Testing - Phase 2 Open - *** Car List & Testing Instructions on Page 1 ***
I was concerned that the RWD cars at 570 were just a bit to slow, but after doing the testing and racing against each other I found that they worked well. A few RWD at 580 were too good.
Re: TCC Season 7 (Q1 2013) Testing - Phase 2 Open - *** Car List & Testing Instructions on Page 1 ***
I will be on tonight from abou 8pm onwards to do some more testing, group testing if possible. I will be trying out different tracks and having a look at grids for the starts.

I'll try and make an appearance, although it's likely to be after 8pm - I've got late meetings at work so should hope to be on by 9pm (ish)

I found that the RWD struggle a bit for the first couple of laps, but once the tyres warm up are much more competitive (although the standing start advantage somewhat negates that initial disadvantage!). The BMWs seem to be a little ahead of the other RWD's, maybe because they're Twin Turbo, so how about keeping RWD TT at 570, increase RWD T to 575 and keep FWD at 580? The extra 5 PI helps a few cars such as the Audi RS3 be competitive (can put wider tyre width on it). The Lexus can be either T or TT, so that could be built to either 570 or 575. I don't have the BMW M Coupe to test, but it seems to be doing very similar times to the 135i for everyone else.
For my test times, it helps bring more of the RWD T cars into the top half of the field, without handing the BMW's too much of an advantage:

Making the RWD cars 575 was discussed at the last test, but we weren't sure how much of an advantage this really gave. I do feel some of the RWD cars don't have a chance at 570, like Audi, Volvo and Subaru but the 135i is very good. I was driving the 1M the other day and it was no where near the pace of the 135i, but it may have been my build. It had no grunt at all coming out of corners.

Mother-in-law's birthday today, so going round there for a bit tonight, but hope to be on later - doing some jiggery-pokery in my living room to make space for a bigger computer desk to get both my laptop on and my second 360.
Of course, I'm doing this while the missus is working, so she may come home and kill me for not seeking permission.
So if my Brenneke GT is on, I'm up for testing. Otherwise, I am dead.

Re: TCC Season 7 (Q1 2013) Testing - Phase 2 Open - *** Car List & Testing Instructions on Page 1 ***
I find the BMW has massive amounts of grip once the tyres are warmed up, seems to have about 0.2s edge on the best of the other RWD cars.
I'm finding 5 PI is about 0.2s difference and 10 PI is 0.4s. Taking the BMW, Insignia and Volvo S60 as an example:
BMW
580 - 1m34.885
575 - 1m35.0xx
570 - 1m35.215
Insignia
580 - 1m35.076
575 - 1m35.1xx
570 - 1m35.397
Volvo S60
580 - 1m35.082
575 - 1m35.316
570 - 1m35.5xx

Won't making RWD 575 make the cars too good combined with the start advantage over FWD (can already gain ~6 places on the grid)

Noticed a few things making the cars up to 575, I can't seem to get the 08 Impreza to 575 at all, and my build on the Audi RS3 seemed to be much better at 570 which I can't replicate at 575.

Hainesy is having the same problem with one of the BMW's not being able to replicate times set at 570.
Nearly completed testing all the FWD cars around Hock times range from a 1.35.2 to a 1.36.4 (will post them up once completed)

The BMWs, or rather Twin Turbo RWDs in general, are probably fine at 570 anyway.
