My one suggestion for tracks would be to swap Suzuka Full for Suzuka West, and Silverstone Int. for Silverstone GP. I would also swap the dates so that the penultimate race is at a UK track, where most of TORA's members are located, and pretty much is the home of touring cars.

National was about to be used, as it would be very interesting, but I felt International suited the more powerful cars better. However, it may make a return next Season Wink

I'll be keeping the Calendar the same, as I said I am planning on Season 8 to be not too long after Season 7 (if the cars don't require much further work) and use a different set of tracks.

On another note....

I've been discussing the way that VTCC start their touring car races with CQR Rusty, and wondered if we might like to try it.
Essentially, Lap 1 = parade lap, form up on grid, person in last says when they're set, then the pole-sitter says "go on [insert time here]" - about 3-5 secs from the call, so everyone has to do "a clutch start".

Could be a lot more realistic, challenging and fun, and also look awesome if we do live/replay coverage!!

Replays checked after the last race for jump starts (if necessary).

Worth a try during our testing phase??

I've taken part in a few VTCC races that used this system - I can't recomend it enough.

Not only does it add another element to the spectacle but it definitely ups the pressure on the competitors.

It also makes the pole sitter keep the pack close, dont want to be sitting on the line for ages getting the tires cold. I think it would be fantastic to do this.

It could also be a royal pain in the butt considering some of our "less than bright" members. Being on mic will also be 100% necessary (have had problems with people being "away" or "away with the fairies" more like(!) in the past.

The issues would not really be any different to the current rolling starts we've used - this also requires people to be 'on mic' and listening out for "we'll start at 2:15" is no different to listening out for "3,2,1....GO!"

Why not arrange a test race night early next week to try this out within the test team?

I have always loved to try it, the TCC might be the best one to try it with. As Chris said, we have some less than capable members at times, but we also have more people who want things to be as realistic as we can make it.

How about if we do a group test on Friday and we try grid starts? Maybe CQR Rusty can help us out with going about them?

If they dont hear when the start time is then thats there fault and will go when they see all the other cars going around them, unless we have a full lobby worth and one car will go out alone lol

In a way it is proven in TORA as this was the way the Race of Champions had it, left at 30 seconds so they had to wacth the clock to go, and how good was that to wacth with who got the better start
