..... beanz start in the ROC, "oh i forgot to let go of the clutch", priceless
only concern i would have is finding my gridslot in terms of visibility, would have to do a few practice starts for me to get to grips with it.

Some very consistent laptimes from BG Cowboy - almost all those FWD times are within a few tenths, around a 35.5. Be very interesting to see how your RWD times compare, and whether you feel RWD is about right, too slow, too fast etc

Some of the cars on the list are from the pre-order DLC pack (therefore you cannot buy the DLC even if you wanted) and I don't think there is a free car to download so you can see them. VW Bora time.
Cars include the Alfa and BMW M Coupe.

I think those pre-order bonus cars may be on disk already and so can be seen by anyone (they just have the cheek to try and charge us for it after cos they're special 'pre order' cars!), I'll try and find out

The pre-order cars are available to buy now (individually). That's how I got them, and they were all part of the original game, so no Bora problem.

I have been asking for warm laps and grid starts for a number of years now but gave up as it never happened.

Ive had a idea for the rolling starts, Drivers must go through the grid markings like the WTCC does. Another Idea would be to look at getting the WTCC to take notice of TORA likr the MR2 championship does.

TORA probably has more viewers than the WTCC

When the start time is called, id advise you go for about 15-20 seconds away, this allows the time to be repeated.
So, say if its decided by the pole sitter, this is how it happens.
Parade lap used to form grid.
cars enter grid slots.
Guy in last says when he is in position. Essentially waving the "all clear flag"
Pole guy announces time.
lobby host repeats time!
This takes the edge off the RWD advantage as it introduces driver error!
Jump starts are easy to spot aswell.
1 thing to watch for is sneaky people with RWD cars gridding up at an angle, thus launching their car into the gap in the middle before it can be closed.
But its little things like this that can be seen easily.
Other thing we do ( im giving away all my best material now ) is we do a top 10 reverse grid. So finish 10th, start pole, finish 11th, start 11th! If you do this, make sure the points system is suitable to stop sandbagging and getting 10th and an easy win from the reverse grid run.

Can I just say though, as i know how some peoples attitudes are towards things. If you do start using this procedure, it will make the VTCC TCC and TORA TCC extremely similar in format! ( regs are totally different dont worry.about that )
All im doing is covering my back for when some idiot goes "ere! Look. This Ve U Next Tuesday has stolen your idea" and then unravels into a world of hate.
Im not saying."I have rights " on this, im just trying to stop any arguments that may spire in the future ( i've had it before lol )
I know im not the most popular character in forza land, so im just covering my back
Again, I can happily send Aero the VTCC regs so he can see their totally different, its just sods law, 2 great minds think alike when it comes to starting the event at the start of the BTCC season.

would that be a problem? happens in r/l and would be hard to enforce.
agree with the forming grid procedure with lobby host repeating start time.

We stopped people doing it when we saw, RWD have enough of an advantage as it is, and doing it on.tighter tracks like Suzuka and Infineon where your greeted by walls either side, it can be a accident waiting to happen!
Re: TCC Season 7 (Q1 2013) Testing - Phase 2 Open - *** Car List & Testing Instructions on Page 1 ***
Don't think anyone would complain too much if the championships were too similar as I presume both are trying to emulate r/l racing situations/start procedures.

wouldn't the RWD be attempting to make a pass no matter if they were lined up straight or not due to their advantage anyway. also how straight is straight lol? 0 degrees, 5 degrees, 10 degrees...

Yea that's just it, i just don't want their to be any tension or bad atmosphere etc etc
We've been using this since 2011 and its the most sensible way to do things! The process works on Rolling starts too!

will have to have a gander to see how much of an advantage RWD cars get on the start to see how many FWD cars they manage to overtake before the 1st corner.
remember last season the sentra gaining places on the start due to its launch and it not being too chaotic.

Re: TCC Season 7 (Q1 2013) Testing - Phase 2 Open - *** Car List & Testing Instructions on Page 1 ***
Yea, they will always try for the move, but being at an angle launches them into a hole, get 1 idiot in that RWD and someone who is savvy in FWD and moves half a car over when they start, it can decend into chaos.
I've quite a few replays on my SF. All the Touring cars ones use this sytem if you want to see it done before giving it a try ( please note one at RA club took a while because it was the first time we did for alot of people ( no harm in taking 2-3 mins to sort when its new better to explain that one last time than hash it up )

Is this definitely the case as it isnt in the build regs yet. I know that last season we ran the Sentra with the Silvia S15 engine in it, and this season you can do the same and still get it within regs.

Would be hard to police so I'd say allowed if it remains within the weight/power/PI limit, and then please feedback if you notice a potential exploit/advantage.
Re: TCC Season 7 (Q1 2013) Testing - Phase 2 Open - *** Car List & Testing Instructions on Page 1 ***
Only way to tell with some of the cars is the engine note - the Forte engine in the Kia cee'd sounds quite different to the standard engine. If the engine swap keeps the car within the regs though, then I can't really see any problem with allowing them. I think Haburi's identified these cars that can have engine swaps and stay within the regs:
SEAT Leon 2010
Kia Cee'D
Subaru Impreza '08
Peugeot RCZ
Volvo C30
Nissan Sentra

Just completed some laps in the Nissan Sentra using the stock engine and the Silvia S15 engine. Difference in lap time of 0.002s. Felt no real difference in terms of performance.

As cool as Rusty's idea is for the clutch start I couldn't do it on my wheel very well. The "A" button is far enough away on the CSR Elite and such a pain to get to that I have to lift my hand off the rim. This wasn't as much of a problem with previous wheels and I don't have my handbrake swapped because of the ACL firmware.
It would prove even more difficult in FWD. As soon as I drop the clutch and hit the gas the wheel is going to jerk really hard to one side and I'll only have one hand on it.
