Re: Phase 1 Testers - TEC Sebring
just sounds to me like someones upset that they might not win , were are daniels times in the other cars ?
Re: Phase 1 Testers - TEC Sebring
Sounds like the opposite to me, someone being afraid they might lose so have to post bulls*it lap times rather than contributing to the testing process.

Re: Phase 1 Testers - TEC Sebring
This list will form the base of ISCC, and that test group - like the TCC - will open up fully to the clubs and many other drivers after Sebring. If the Aston is that much slower it will either be shown at Sebring or people will see the issue on a wider testing base.
Just now, with so little time to go, I am not changing the Aston based off of what has been said so far. I am only interested in having a fair race and none of this VAMR stuff affects me. With it being a lot of VAMR drivers or related team drivers saying it should be faster I need to also take that with a pinch of salt.
I'm not happy the car is in and as you can see it's causing issues within such a small group. I am surprised this issue hasn't spilled onto the main forums, usually when a car is that bad it is brought up straight away and a big hoo-haa is made about it. That hasn't been the case. Also please note that standard TORA rules - as Magic said - allow this car to be chosen by anyone and not a selected few. You still need to be quick to get it as giving the cars to people is very unfair and something we don't do. This team may not even get the Aston, and no one else from the public is either a) worried about it being too slow or b) have no interest in it.
If it is a mess and the ISCC testing proves it to require the 15% then I will admit my mistake and take full blame. Also, if anyone wants to make a big deal about it then send them my way. I can see why Simon got agitated and left the GTs, but I'll persevere and hope we actually get a good race at the end of the day.

Re: Phase 1 Testers - TEC Sebring
I have no doubt the racing will be fine but like Magic said people all have their agendas and when you get a small group of pretty much one team supplying data you are bound to have a skew.
I do honestly think the best thing to do is to have joint tests and force stock tuning on those lobbies to MAKE people test the cars in a more fair way. Then you really won't be legislating against drivers but against the mechanical composition of the car itself.
Richy I know you aren't massively happy having the Aston in, but I do think it would be a wasted opportunity with everything I'm trying to build for TORA elsewhere and the fact that Aston is a staple of GT racing across the globe. It seems silly to not have it in. Now none of us are to blame for the poor show T10 have done in providing contemporary race machinery in a 'motorsport' game. I hope this is adjusted in the forthcoming title. We have to work with the hand we've been dealt and we've done a bloody good job for the last 6 yrs.
The fact we have testing groups says alot about the respect we have for the community. We could be considerably more prescriptive like some others but this is the best way forward for us and provides a platform for the core teasm to get involved and have their say early in the process. Not two odd weeks before the big event!
VAMR will run at Sebring (provided we get the cars) and we won't be there to make up the numbers

Re: Phase 1 Testers - TEC Sebring
the people helping me with times were from , IRT ,VVV ,ONR and HMR 4 different teams claiming its fine but yet only 1 person claiming its not .
Re: Phase 1 Testers - TEC Sebring
Good decision Richy, the data is inconclusive so no reason to change things now.
Hope you get your cars Matt, and hopefully we can provide you with some decent tunes and drivers for the race - despite what other people here may think, they've been doing a very good job in TORA GT this season.
Shame the testing thread has to be used as a way to slag off the efforts of teams and drivers, it wasn't really what I wanted to be part of as a testing group, so I shall be stepping down from future test groups please. Thanks.
Good luck at Sebring everyone

Cheers Magic,
I know know way should it be used to say anything bad about any 1.
The correct way its used is the TCC and of which I still want this to be used correctly, Magic you can PM me or Richy direct to resolve any direct issues raised here
And yes AMR team doing great job in the car this year

Re: Phase 1 Testers - TEC Sebring
I try
The test group for this needed more drivers from the start, only a few did times.

is it just me, or did someone make a fuss about the Aston Martin, but still ran a mid 2:02 with it in their Qualifying session?!

Re: Phase 1 Testers - TEC Sebring
We never said the Aston can't do 2.02.5 (Python ran 2.02.7), the issue that was raised was that it's still 2 nearly secs off the times by skilled drivers in other cars (2.00.6 Ford GT and 2.00.7 Ferrari), due to the additional 5% power penalty the car has been given. All of this was covered before so I suggest you re-read it rather than slagging off my team mates. Fed up with bullshit here.

IRT Trash wrote:now i seen python post a 2.02.7 in a partially tuned aston as did takumi so its pretty clear that its daniel that is off pace and not the car .
Takumi has never driven the Aston. He never even ran Sebring against Python and was running the Vette against him at Le Mans. No idea where you are getting this from Trash.
Re: Phase 1 Testers - TEC Sebring
Sounds like it was all made up to distort the test group data. Shocking.

Re: Phase 1 Testers - TEC Sebring
Aye Daniel and Shifty did a cracking job getting that car round there that fast. Poor me as to match that lol
We'll only know the real balancing of all the cars once the grid is set.

Re: Phase 1 Testers - TEC Sebring
Exactly Chaddy, none of the quick teams and drivers in the best cars, Ford's, Ferrari, BMWs have done their qualifying, and as soon as Shifty puts a stunning lap in we get ridiculous comments like DarthMario's
