Alright guys here is some details from FM.net on the new wheels.

Microsoft - That goofy looking controller/wheel is 59.99

Madcatz - FFB wheel is $230 and they will offer a cheaper version.

Fanatec - 2 wheels. One is an improvement on the GT2 with improvements in quite a few areas. The other sounds like they are finally releasing a clubsport edition in all metal and carbon fiber dubbed as "ELITE". Neither of these will be cheap at all.

ready made market with the education and need done and required. They fit right into the MS Wheels slot and can charge a little more because people are willing to pay for a ffb wheel now ms wheels are dying out!!

Looking at their previous offering, it looks much more solid than some of the ones I have had in the past.

I like the inverted pedals though, that would be a massive improvement over the MS wheel, along with the shifter.

I wouldn't immediately jump on a Madcatz.

First they make inferior products to what Microsoft makes in the controller aspect already. Second, it will be their first attempt at a FFB wheel which is a form of a controller. Third, the previous two combined cannot be good.

I know my own and many others struggles with the Microsoft wheel. I bought two and had to return two others. I know Magictap has 3-5 wheels sitting there. If Madcatz is worse, oh boy.

I don't see a Madcatz wheel lasting as long as a Fanatec. By the time it screws up and breaks and you pick up another one you could have bought a Fanatec. My order for the wheel and clubsport pedals came to $471 total. A Madcatz is $230. I would just save a bit longer and get the Fanatec if you are obviously thinking about it.

There is 122 days until FM4 comes out. You can make up the difference in the two wheels by putting back 2 dollars a day in a jar your old lady doesn't know about. Throw that in Paypal along with the 230 you would already spend and you'll have the best made wheel out there.

I love my Microsoft Wheel. It does everything I need.

And while i would love to have one of the high end ones, I dont hate my microsoft wheel. It does its job well, other than having squeaky pedals after two years of abuse.

Its the best wheel i've ever had.

ditto nicky, apart from mine has no paddle shifts and more, or a central bearing!!

but alas, it will die soon ;O(

I have to also give credit to Microsoft. WHAT!! yup. The FOUR wheels i've had. I only paid for one. MS did a great job of replacing them. thank you.

The Madcatz wheel is not made in-house by Madcatz, its made my a firm called Saitek, who have, in the past, made semi-decent and reliable FFB wheels. So it will be just as good as a Microsoft wheel, at that sort of price level.

It's only a rumour and not confirmed, unless you have more info anywhere?

I have a Saitek backlit keyboard as well, and a Saitek joystick (for those occasional times when I get the irrational urge to play MS Flight Sim X or Falcon 4.0).

Saitek are part of the Madcatz ''family'' and their previous wheel shares an identical base to the new one.

Does anybody have any experience using the current Mad Catz wheel? I am close to buying one as I can't find any MS ones and mine is destroyed.

This is a stop gap until the Fanatec comes out, apart from Forza I can't play any other racing games with the controller. Dirt is boring, Shift is too fidgety and Race Pro is annoying. I just need a wheel until the Fanatec comes out and I can only find the Mad Catz is shops. I am not paying nearly £200 for the MS one new on eBay and I'm not buying a Fanatec now.

Yeah, I'm considering them as well. Gonna rip my MS one apart to see just what the damage is. tbh there is no wheel thats worth it on the Xbox except the MS one at the price range.
