That's just the wheel, you have to buy the Elite pedals (worth it) and the shifter seperate.

the CSR looks amazing and I probably would be pretty happy with it, but I need to get that Elite Razz Apparently it isn't going into production until November Sad

Right, Inside Sim Racing will be releasing a ''Wheel buyer's guide'' soon, which will cover all the new wheels coming out, including the Madcatz, the Thrustmaster and the Fanatecs.

I look forward to seeing the quality of the Madcatz vs the Thrustmaster!

Ignore the guy, just see the wheel... ''Metal'' construction rather than plastic, which is good. And it comes with a cable to connect to the PC.

For those on a budget, you can buy Forza 4 with a Thrustmaster 458 in a bundle for £110.

With all these student bursaries i'm getting now, it would be very easy just to blow it all on a full Fanatec setup...

For those with MS/G25/G27 pedals, you can buy an adapter for the Fanatec wheel.

Simraceway's new 'pedal free' steering wheel.

http://kotaku.com/5860472/how-many-buttons-does-a-pedal+free-pc-racing-controller-need-this-many/gallery/1

Sorry, but it's a complete waste to time and effort. If you are trying to make a serious simulation racing game such as Simraceway then you will expect your audience will have race rigs. Doing this cheapens both the game and the peripheral.

I wouldn't say it was a complete waste of time.. I'd like to see an adapter for a wheel base or something, it's a really nice wheel on its own, someone is bound to make one.

It's the closest thing to an F1 wheel with ALL working buttons I've seen that doesn't cost the earth.
I know Fanatec are doing an F1 wheel for the CSR series but I don't know that it'll have all the functionality of that.
I guess it must take some time to get used to the pedals on the back, especially as you;d not be using your dominant fingers for them...

I'd like to know who the team of drivers were... I can guess at least one of them though Wink

It's just the ridiculous Microsoft Speedwheel but with more buttons and in an actual steering wheel shape. There's a video of it and it looks just as bad as the Speedwheel. More buttons and lights doesn't make it a better product.

Said ridiculous wheel

I'll admit that it's wierd not having the obvious feedback and solidarity of a steering column.
But as an idea its interesting and I'd certainly give one a go to at least see how it compares. Not that it matters too much with mine on the way in time for Xmas Wink

CSR-E pre-orders put on hold....
Isn't it nice to be wanted Razz

@Duncan: So you went for the CSR Value pack? Good choice mate though the shifter set isn't in it. That's gonna be a bit extra. Not an essential purchase mind, but depending what cars you're driving it'll probably be more immersive to have it. Especially the sequential.

Basically as of NOW, they're not taking anymore orders because the demand is about to outstrip supply.
Rather than have disappointed customers prior to Xmas, they're asking people to be patient.
ALL current pre-orders taken prior to this will be done before Xmas so they say Smile

Post by Matt Mon 28 Nov 2011 - 10:47

From Thomas:

We a are being overun by CSR Elite orders so unfortunatley we have to cut off taking pre-orders for the CSR E.

Our production is running full speed but demand is exceeding supply. We will start flying in the wheels from next week and will ship all open orders before Christmas as promised.

As soon as we can see when we can bring in more wheels, we will take the pre-orders again.

This situation is also affecting the ClubSport wheel as the metal parts are the bottleneck. If we would offer the ClubSport wheel now, the situation would just get "worse" so we decided to expand our production first in order to make sure we can deliver the high demand for these wheels.
