300 euro is around equivalent to that (provided it's still here next year), but don't Fanatec charge the same price in every currency? (i.e $300, 300 euro, £300..)

And once again, my keyboard annoys me for not having a euro sign, but having a dollar sign..

Not sure what they come with tbh, I think the Fanatecs all require extras like tabel clamps. I have no idea what the Elite comes with either, as its a flat bottom base and the wheel is horizontal, where all other wheels are angled towards you like a real car.

EDIT

I think you need to buy this, although it would be better to read up on it and maybe ask anyone who already has a Porsche wheel or something as the standard CSR shares the same base.

The CSR has a table clamp with it, it's the same heavy duty pastic one that comes with the Porsche wheels-ish. Just a bit better.
The Elite has a kind of angled base plate that sits it on a flat surface at the same angle as any of the the other wheels. Bu it does only have options for hardmounting right out of the box. If you want to clamp the Elite then yeah you'll need the extra piece Richy's put in there.

Fanatec CSR Elite - Un-freaking-believable. Honestly, you can feel the width of the front tyres and at hairpins in an LMP1 car I am struggling to turn the wheel because of the force feedback. Incredible. I will be doing a further review on it soon.

Post by Richy59 Sun 18 Dec 2011 - 15:51

I'm still learning/struggling. The problem with Forza that was apparent on the old MS wheel was that you had, say, 20 degrees either side of the centre that was really strong and gave you really good turning ability. Any more than that and you were into understeer mode. As the Fanatec can be taken up to 900 degrees you can expand the useful range of turning. Currently I am sitting at 570 degrees. It also requires cars to be tuned completely differently. I need to speak to VVV Worm about the wheel as he has had his for some time and has tuned cars to suit. Normal steering is also a must instead of Simulation steering, as Fanatec officially suggests.

The wheel I used to have many many years ago was without FFB and I did get frustrated with that as it gave me no sense of feel at all. I'm expecting great things from the CSR.
